Allenson
6+ so far here and very nice stuff to move around. I'll take a low end fluffier snow over a high end glop any day. Picking back up now again after a bit of a lull.

tamarack
Snowing hard in bethlehem. Fun fact; highest elevated town east of rockies. Seems a bit hard to believe, as there are towns in the southern Apps at elevations that would be near tree line in NNE. A quick trip to Wunderground showed Bethlehem (someplace in town, anyway) at 1,295'. I have friends in Galax, VA and that shows up at 2,650'. (Picky, ain't I?) Edit: And too late, as well! Snow backed off to moderate about 2:30, probably about 6" in AUG. State workers got 3 PM release (except for VimTootLand and its snow drought) but I'm waiting for the crowds to disperse. I think MBY will land in the +/-7" range once again, seems to be the standard foothills storm size this winter. Maybe some ULL action from that stuff in central NY could push the total higher, like it did 2/2-3. 12z gfs continued the ever-so-slightly-cooler trend for Monday. They have AUG/RUM highs in the 34-36 range with about 1" qpf, and a significant part of that at 32 or below in RUM. GYX discussion also bunted Sun up an inch, to 2-4", though the top end of that is progged to fall south of MBY.

That's good enough. Our lows have been in the minus teens daily lately and they will return to those levels Sat. night. What falls in Aroostook County stays in Aroostook County. Unless it's blown in to NB. Vim Toot! Grand Vizier of VimTootistan

I'll tell ya- the radar has been dry over my place for the last half hour, yet the snow has hardly let up. Odd. That back edge is racing this way like it's on a mission. There's some good 25-30 dbz buried in there. Should be fun.
