Baroclinic Zone
Yes Its tough to get an idea here sometimes. The house here is surrounded by 70-80 foot white pines and yellow birch. There is a slight clearing in front of the house where, if the sno falls straight down, I can get a rough idea. Flake size looks pretty good right now. 1/8in flakes looks about right. mattlacroix4
OK, I am pissed now, GYX lowered our snow amounts again for my area..what are they doing??? They have 6-10 inches for all of central and southern NH, and then 4-8 for the windham, Bridgton area, and then Lewiston northeast 6-10. Why am I in a hole? I know it doesn't really matter now, since nowcasting is more important, but that doesn't make sense. Oh and, I have more than 4 inches already.. mahk_webstah
11:15 measurement of 6 inches, 3 inches since 8:45. That would make a 6 hour measurement since the snow started of 6 inches. Kinda surprised I had that much...was working a bit the last couple of hours and missed how hard it was snowing. Snow growth remains not bad, not great. Radar looking better. Scott, thanks for your input. But when you say "looks good" are you meaning we get a deformation band or something. Looking at radar, I'll have 10 inches by 3pm. When is our heaviest snow and when does it cut off? Also it is getting windy and the travelanches have started. Really nice out there...mid winter conditions.
