mattlacroix4
GYX went half-price on their map as well. I was expecting more reds to be shown. I don't see why Gray thinks that NH will get heavier snow than Maine. The amounts in their forecast do not make sense. For Derry, NH they have 6-10 inches of snow during the day, then at night, it says snow, total snow 4-8...I don't know..

Mica Vim Toot
Glad I have the day off work today to simply watch it snow and go out and plow once in a while. Now that's livin! My favorite snow routine- have a cup of joe. Get my sledding rig including helmet on. Start up my tractor friend. Help our pup "Legsy" up on to his place at my feet amidst the controls for "dee tractee ridee!" (I speak corgi) Plow a little then sled a little to keep the trails from being obliterated. Good times. Vim Toot!
CoastalWx
I'm surprised they have totals that low in the interior??

J.Spin
BTV cut down our total overnight Listening to Roger Hill this morning, he said that things shifted a bit south, so he seems to be on the same track as the NWS. The new map is more like the first map with regard to the north central part of the state, but now with the pink down toward the southern part of the state and totals tapering off a bit in the far north. I’ve added all three maps below for a comparison on the forecast progression; it’s pretty neat to see how things fluctuate as the forecasters fine tune the details:
Allenson
Steady light snow here now. Help our pup "Legsy" up on to his place at my feet amidst the controls for "dee tractee ridee!" (I speak corgi) Plow a little then sled a little to keep the trails from being obliterated. Ha-ha, corgi, eh? I tongue that I've yet to master! When our dog is in the truck with me as I plow, she flops & falls all over the place--particularly when I hit the banks at ramming speed. She won't let me leave her sight though! CoastalWx
Still looks like Jay and Bob should get hit pretty hard. Maybe down to Eric as well.
MaineJayhawk
Snow started just as I was loading the kids in the car. It swiftly covered the roads and was I believe legit heavy snow at times (looked like the proverbial wall of white as I approached the heavy stuff) And just now looking at SFM obs at 7:15 their vis was down to 0.25sm, so yeah -- heavy snow. MaineJayhawk
Remember last night when i had mentioned the qpf getting cut back............. Yes, but the guidance I've seen supports heavier totals than the map shows. We'll see come verification. Moderate snow at PWM.
Allenson
Steady light snow now. 28f Ditto on both accounts for here too. Good week for you to up in NNE--bluebird days earlier in the week, fresh snow for the weekend.

red
Well, someone has it wrong. If you extrapolate the CAR map down to southern Maine it doesn't line up very well with what GYX has up...

mahk_webstah
snow growth is actually pretty crappy...under decent returns but flakes are very small. This will have to change soon if we are to hit double figures.

If you extrapolate the CAR map down to southern Maine it doesn't line up very well with what GYX has up... If you extrpolate the back to here I had 7-12" here and i am thinking i will see about 8 or 9" if it stays all snow
dryslot
What did the Euro have for QPF for our area? 1-1.25" qpf, The nam and gfs cut it back to .75" Although ratios could be better
CoastalWx
1-1.25" qpf, The nam and gfs cut it back to .75" It still looks like the deformation and mid level fronto stuff gets near and north/NW of PWM pretty good. That might boost the spirits of those with the qpf fetish. I haven't looked terribly closely to be honest, but the areas that looked good yesterday still seem like game on. Maybe areas a little further south, now too.

slknight
Kennebunkport point is showing all rain today. I don't know what it's doing there now since I'm at work in Portland, but it definitely started as snow there around 6:15. I did hit some mixed precip/rain on the turnpike around Biddeford/Saco though. That point-and-click doesn't make any sense because we're also under a Winter Storm Warning.
