A-L-E-X
Incredible fork lightning! This was so awesome, John! This looked better than some severe wx I've seen in the spring haha. I counted 5 CG, my power went out for over half an hour and we had heavy rain and high winds. And then we got a bonus second round! All in all, it lasted about 45-50 min. Our metro area rocks for all kinds of weather!
A-L-E-X
Another sure sign winter is over, severe weather season is upon us (this is a sarcastic remark) This warm up actually reminds me of Jan 1996 in a way, that one also included a severe wx outbreak. While this one wasnt severe, these storms I experienced were better than Ive seen with some severe wx warnings. The south shore was the jackpot zone this time. I couldn't help but think about how awesome our weather has been. the past two months are up there with my favorite stretches of all time. 70+" of snow, insane cold, 70+ degree weather, high winds, thunderstorms, I mean it's just been so rad lately. Dude, when the power went out (I think lightning must've hit a transformer cause it happened after a really bright flash and I also heard fire engine sirens going off) I immediately thought of how excited youve been going from the 2009 baseball season through last winter, last summer, severe wx season, the winter and now. This has got to be one of the most exciting last 12 months in NYC area history. The only thing we havent seen is a hurricane lol. Our area rocks for almost all kinds of weather! A-L-E-X
felt like summer out there for a little while Its been humid this afternoon and evening too. 50 degree dew points dont sound like a lot, but they are compared to what we've been used to. mgerb
Pequest is down to 39 now But an hour later has bumped back up to 47. Really interesting. That site radiates extremely well, which I suspect was what was happening earlier in the evening, but it seems with the front coming through and some better mixing, it has allowed the temperature to perk back up.
