ski MRG
Its small hail...we don't have an inversion in place aloft...but WBZ heights are coming down quickly...they are only a few thousand feet up (3-4k) so small hail has virtually no time to melt. Cool, I wouldn't have made the differentiation. It looks and sounds like a ping fest off the window panes.lol That stuff is just tearing east. Can't wait to see flakes again. Today's warmth really maade me dread true Spring. So glad we have more Winter to go. I get depressed when Winter really does die.

HIPPYVALLEY
Great weather night! I've seen several lightning flashes, felt weird temp variations as the wind blows and shifts all the while a pretty solid snow pack still in place. Wind is howling up high. Kind of surreal being outside.

DomNH
Saw some distant lightning, but looks like I'll whiff on the t-storms. Can't get them in summer, can't get them in winter, not surprised.

HIPPYVALLEY
Fascinating wx tonight. As MPM said earlier - had some impressive returns overhead with nothing more than a few drops of precip. Sky is awesome right now. Dark clouds with occasional lightning and the moon shining through.
A-L-E-X
Absolutely ripping hail here. Its nuts. Wow we had two thunderstorms move through with CG, my power went out and fire sirens were blaring, but I'd kill to have some hail! I bet you got some accumulating hail too haha. ski MRG
Absolutely ripping hail here. Its nuts. Pretty cool huh. It really came down hard here for a while. Enough to cover the cars and walkway. Wind is now kicking up from the NW and the temp has begun to slip. Getting some gusts in the 25mph range already. This should be fun. Bye Bye Torchy. ski MRG
ALB on board. A FAST MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO TRACK FROM THE UPPER MID WEST SUNDAY EVENING TO WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA MONDAY MORNING AND PASS SOUTH OF NOVA SCOTIA LATE MONDAY. THE NAM...GFS AND ECMWF ARE ALL IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE TRACK...SPEED AND CENTRAL PRESSURE OF THIS SYSTEM WITH SOME DIFFERENCES IN THE QPF FIELDS THAT WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS. GENERALLY EXPECT A MODERATE SNOWFALL ACROSS THE FA WITH THE BULK OF THE PCPN FALLING IN THE FORM OF SNOW FROM THE SECOND HALF OF SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH NOONTIME ON MONDAY. THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME MIXING WITH SLEET AND RAIN ACROSS SOUTHEAST PORTIONS OF THE FA ON MONDAY WHICH MAY CUT DOWN ON THE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS IN THOSE AREAS. EXPECT THAT MOST AREAS WILL SEE A GENERAL 3 TO 6 INCH ACCUMULATION BASED ON LATEST MODEL GUIDANCE AND SPEED OF THE SYSTEM. HAVE CREATED A STORM TOTAL SNOW GRID FOR THIS EVENT WHICH IS AVAILABLE ON OUR WEB PAGE. HOWEVER HIGHER AMOUNTS WOULD BE POSSIBLE IF SYSTEM SLOWS AT ALL. EXPECT LOWS SUNDAY NIGHT TO BE IN THE UPPER SINGLE DIGITS

ski MRG
Just what I want to see. An immediate regeneration of the still deep snowpack. THE NEXT CONCERN IS LAKE EFFECT AND UPSLOPE SNOWS. VERY COLD AIR MOVES OVER REGION SATURDAY WITH 850 MB TEMPERATURES DROPPING DOWN TO -15 TO -20C. LAKE ONTARIO WATER SURFACE TEMPERATURE IS IN THE UPPER 30S. WESTERLY WINDS LATE TONIGHT WILL BECOME NORTHWESTERLY SATURDAY WHICH WILL MOVE THE FOCUS FOR LAKE EFFECT FROM THE WESTERN ADIRONDACKS TO THE WESTERN MOHAWK VALLEY. AT THIS TIME...ADVISORY LEVEL SNOWS ARE POSSIBLE FOR NORTHERN HERKIMER COUNTY. WITH THE STRONG WESTERLY FLOW AND ENHANCEMENT FROM THE LAKE BELIEVE UPSLOPE SNOWS WILL OCCUR IN THE SOUTHERN GREEN MOUNTAINS...INTO THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL TACONICS AND BERKSHIRES ON SATURDAY ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNING. HAVE GONE WITH A LIKELY POPS AND LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS
