WinterWxLuvr
http://voices.washin...n_snowfall.html Nice job, Ian. Quick question. I was thinking all along that 08-09 winter was at least a weak LaNina. Am I just thinking wrong? If so, what was it? Neutral?
Ian
Nice job, Ian. Quick question. I was thinking all along that 08-09 winter was at least a weak LaNina. Am I just thinking wrong? If so, what was it? Neutral? I'm not really a La Nina expert I just parsed numbers for years on a list. I did actually throw in a line and thought of it to cover that season (Im sure there are others). It fell short of the 'definition' by one period it seems. But I would say it probably looked like a Nina and I have seen NOAA pieces describing it as a Nina. http://www.cpc.ncep....ensoyears.shtml http://ggweather.com/enso/oni.htm

Bob Chill
All it takes is one or 2 decent events to put the area above climo for the year. Almost no one thought that was possible this year. If it happens I can already hear Ji saying "By far this is the absolute worst above climo snow season in history".
