Seriously Valentine's Day is contrived but a nice gesture. I left work an hour early, had dinner privately with my wife while our daughter was in dance class. She had a meeting tonight but upon coming home, we'll have chocolate and celebrate our good fortune for finding each other. And I mean every word of that.

oh you guys are so cute! anywho, spent my Valentine's Evening at my usual Monday eve Weight Watchers meetings...lost 6.2lbs this week...went for a very ejoyable 4mi run today while it was in the 50's...but reading your posts, I guess the door has slammed shut on the warmth at least for tomorrow...I will not be running outside until the temp gets to 45 or above...thinking that looks to be Thursday and Friday...can't remember if Saturday was going to mild as well...

holy crap, the wind is roaring! the house is creaking like crazy...

i've camped out in winds like this in the mojave desert before...not good sleeping weather...tent fabric is super loud in the wind...plus you wake up to about an inch of red dust-sand in the bottom of your tent...all over your sleeping bag...coating your face, in your mouth...in your ears...yup, good times!

That is one heck of a gradient pattern on the gfs long range, wow.

Looks like one heck of a sh*tty pattern to me, unless you're planning on moving to North Dakota in the next couple days. -PNA stays in control with a very active storm track, but heights are way too high in the East to get a storm that doesn't cut. Trough returns to the East 3/1, as many folks anticipated.

Who cares if they try to cut.....with the confluence to the N, we are going to get a good dump....well, maybe you won't, but at this lat, we're fine.

Most of these events are going to be tainted....I don't care....I'm fine with getting a few inches of snow, then ending as rain and sleet.....who cares.

I don't need another HECS to be satisifed with this winter, but I'm not sold that we won't end up getting another one, once the NAO returns.

What I know is that we have an abundance of cold in Canada and that the RNA is going to try to cut most of these events...this spells a gradient pattern comprised of swfes, which I'm fine with.

I know swfe climo and I'm ok with where I stand relative to it, at this latitude.
