I'm single, but I view the sentiment surrounding the holiday as a lovely concept; you have to overlook the capitalist fog that envelopes everything.

The whole gift and card thing can be a little over the top. In that aspect, it's turned into a "Hallmark Holiday".

However, the idea behind it as making it a nice day/night for you and yours, is a lovely concept. At least imo.

LOL. You'll get a kick out of the movie, Deliverance. My wife has never seen it, before her time. She saw it at the library and picked it up. Not sure she's going to appreciate Burt Reynolds tour de force performance, we'll see. haha

BTW, and call me an old man, but I watched "Chronicle" tonight. They featured winter activities to do in the Berkshires, and I thought of you..lol.

I agree with Tip on this one. I saw a bunch of fat slobs buying women flowers at the grocery store today hoping it'll do the trick in getting laid tonight. Who are we kidding here with all these flowers and chocolates?? Most guys should save their money. Sure, the women of our lives for a split second enjoy the flowers...but at the end of the day younger women care about looks....and then money...and older women care about money...and some more money.

Watching Deliverance with your wife on Valentine's day? Hmmmm, interested kinda romantic.

If she starts telling you to squeal like a pig, RUN!

Of course......if you feel that way, then do something creative in lieu of a card......create something.

That is more highly appreciated, anyway imo....

Their fault; not societies....no one forces them to be lazy and simply buy I card.....make a little montage of pics and script a a thoughtful note....shake sh** up.

Name me a chick who would hate that.

I like getting construction paper and making cards with little sunshines and roses on it.

Mind meld.

Seriously Valentine's Day is contrived but a nice gesture. I left work an hour early, had dinner privately with my wife while our daughter was in dance class. She had a meeting tonight but upon coming home, we'll have chocolate and celebrate our good fortune for finding each other. And I mean every word of that.

Honestly.....what is wrong with that. lol

Your idea is great. I joked with Alison about how cards are like 5 bucks now, that I'm just buying paper and drawing pretty pictures like a 5 year old. If you knew my artistic ability, it would be funny since I have the motor skills of Edward Scissorhands.

Same lol

Doesn't matter, though.

That's it right there.
