Tropopause_Fold
both 00z and 12z ec ens runs look quite good once we get past the end of the week. using allan's calculations the -epo/-nao combo is coming back to a decent extent...factor in the -pna and that may be a way to avoid cold and dry an instead be cold and active. CT Rain
i don't know i think it looks decent. probably not bitter cold but at least somewhat promising. Yeah I think we return to a normal late feb/early march regime. Maybe a cold and stormy middle end of march? Either way a "normal" late feb and early march can be quite stormy. Ginx snewx
One thing we can all agree on is the wind. Quite the windy week coming up, that will temper the aw feels like spring crowd.
weathafella
Amazing snowpack in a so far amazing winter. Sometimes in a field or park, the snow doesn't look that deep and it's so icy that you can walk on it. Then you look for a bench and realize only the top of the bench back is sticking out of the snow.......lol...it's deep!
weatherMA
Im going for 30-40" more this year. Need to hit 110". 100" isn't going to cut it.

Took a walk out back, was on top of the snow then hit a spot where I sunk pretty good, surprised at how deep it was, over my knees, very very tough to even lift my leg out, due to the icy top, fluff underneath. TalcottWx
I cannot believe how much snow is still in Boston. My deck literally has close to two feet on it still. halfway up the door. Also, Arlington Heights is just BURIED. Absolute winter extravaganza. I was in Don's hood for a party at my friends house last night and its epic up there. weatherMA
35.5 here but who cares. 35F with no sun and dews in the 20s isnt going to do anything to this snow pack. I'm becoming more confident that I still have a decent snow depth next weekend. Low 40s for 2 days a week ago and what did we lose? 4". We might lose 12" this time. Thats still a 14-16" snow depth IMBY.

TalcottWx
Ray! Your epic March will verify. Boston will see 25" more. I think thats a good number. ORH maybe 35"? 40"? I'm riding the wave of how good this winter has been so far. We need to see the Bermuda high relax though soon.

Thanks Jay....you should stop sometimes introduce self and have a (stale) beer. I get them busted from time to time for slant rulers, whatever. The hills here have there own microclimate. 40/70 Benchmark
I have that rotten mixxy type of thought in my head.. BOS and the coast has barely mixed all year more elevation dependent stuff to come probably Probably reserved for the latter portion of the month.....if we do indeed enter into a gradient\swfe event predominate pattern, then the main determinant of snowfall will be latitude, not elevation and proximity to the ocean.....those is are of greater imortance in coastals.
