40/70 Benchmark
Your Davis is generallly lower than the surroudning 12 stations every day no matter what the wx situation, by several degrees. No it isn't....I just cited the Reading site as an example, then the KBEV offical station.
OSUmetstud
Well, it's not corrected enough. lol...I didn't want to be a jerk..but the BOX forecast for my locale was 45 today...right in line with MOS. The high was 54.
CoastalWx
52 now after 55 for the high. However, I think my thermometer may be too close to the house. Seems a little high. Sun torched areas got really banged up, but well shaded areas loss maybe 3" or so...perhaps 4.

Tropopause_Fold
Is it still looking like the winds this weekend might rival tonight's? Word on the street this morning was such, but I'm not sure if the 12z suite is contintuing that idea. they could be stronger
HoarfrostHubb
Point n Click for Tues high now has me at 13F They keep dropping it. Was 21 or so last night, then 19, then 15, now this... Mr Torchey
52 now after 55 for the high. However, I think my thermometer may be too close to the house. Seems a little high. Sun torched areas got really banged up, but well shaded areas loss maybe 3" or so...perhaps 4. I lost 5" of snow in the front yard (exposed) and 4" of snow in the back (shaded) , the snowbanks really seemed to take a hit today as well, the salt was able to really do some damage with the sun and warm temps. As much as I enjoyed the day, that part sucked. Looks like next week winter returns, looking forward to it, big big March on the way.
CoastalWx
SW wind.....really.... Actually, I thought their wind might be 200 or 210. It was 230 so more of a land breeze.

It destroys everything, and the city pours it all over the streets, like there is no tomorrow.

Yea, I thought sea breeze, too.....but I saw the sw wind direction. I think you have to avg out all the little meso nuances...some stations maybe a little off some days....avg it all out and mine was likely a little cool today. I'd say low 50's would be a repesentative #....but it varies, my station is not always many degrees colder than all others, so it's not a calibration issue. free_man
No it isn't....I just cited the Reading site as an example, then the KBEV offical station. The KBEV is not entirely a land breeze even at SW. Reading site is ALWAYS too low, I Know this from living in the area.

I could see it being one or two degrees too low due it being too close to snowpack...but probably not a huge deal with the wind.
Mr Torchey
BDR finally hit 50 the past hour, was in the mid to upper 40s all day with the wind coming off LIS, soon as the winds switched west boom up to 52, see it all the time during caa events when winds shift west this time of year into the spring. Looking forward to tonights direct discharge from the hinterlands.

Yeah 49 or 52..doesn't really matter to sensible wx. KBEV does run cool sometimes, I noticed. Alright, well off to the gym. I'm sure this wx will bring out those who are trying to lose 100lbs by Memorial Day.

dendrite
2 torch/thaw threads and we're posting warmth obs in the winter returns discussion. You guys sure know how to wreck havoc with my OCD. I had a feeling today was going to get more toasty than forecasted, but not to this degree. All of S NH east of the Monads made 50+ with Salem hitting 55F. And btw Ray...it's BVY....not BEV. More OCD from me.
CoastalWx
Will, what did you make of the euro ensembles? I'm still concerned the -PNA may try to ruin the fun a bit, but it does look kind of active. No blocking would mean no blockbusters, but perhaps fast flow bringing frequent hits.
