CoastalWx
The Euro is a very cold pattern at the sfc for us next week...but we might have to deal with mid-level issues. Hopefully that can stay cold enough for mostly snow. It help a lot if the NAO can trend more robust in that time frame to fight the -PNA....a -PNA/-NAO combo is good but its precarious if the PNA is really strong and the NAO is only marginal...you want them about equal strength or at least the NAO close. That's the thing that has been making me a little cautious next week...and even beyond that with a potential yo-yo pattern. It looks good overall, but I would advise everyone not to expect snow from every event...though I know some will anyways.

CoastalWx
Hey Euro has a moderate wintry event next Monday....delayed one day from 0Z. Euro is colder than the rest of the suite. Meanwhile, 2 or every 3 days below normal beginning Saturday. Yeah Sunday was just way too early. Monday into Tuesday seems like the real deal. CoastalWx
D.C hit 70. Impressive. Maybe 3 70s this week for them? Wait until Thursday or Friday. Same here, if we can get full sun. Not 70, but it could be very warm on Friday if we don't have lots of mid level clouds.

CoastalWx
Temps just aloft are dropping, so the tick down will commence in the higher spots if they haven't done so already. Also, winds will probably increase a little too.

ORH_wxman
High temps for tomorrow are almost guaranteed to be at midnight tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if ORH registers like a 29/11 for tomorrow, but the 29 is at midnight and the afternoon tomorrow fails to break 20F. Professional Lurker
round of sprinkles came through while I was out on a lift... sucked, but otherwise it has been an amazing day of spring skiing. ...too bad it will turn into boilerplate. Our groomers do a pretty good job of mixing it up but still.... Plenty of great days ahead!
CoastalWx
Although I hate seeing snow melt this time of year, a one day stay of milder wx is not all that bad for the soul. However, it's the 2-3 days stretches that I'm not a fan of. One day in the 50s...ok, fine...but multiple warm days aren't for me during this time of year. CoastalWx
Euro ensembles look wintry for next week. Keeps the low east of ACY, but it's not surprising ensembles are a little less amped up, as compared to the euro op.

Tropopause_Fold
was this the big issue: HARTFORD/BDL JANUARY MONTHLY CLIMATE REPORT (BOSCLMBDL) HAS BEEN CORRECTED TO REFLECT THE DAILY PRECIPITATION TOTAL OF 0.21 INCH AND SNOWFALL TOTAL OF 3.4 INCHES 1/8/2011. THIS CHANGES THE MONTHLY PRECIPITATION TOTAL TO 4.03 INCHES AND MONTHLY SNOWFALL TO 54.3 INCHES AT WINDSOR LOCKS CT. THE CORRECTION HAS BEEN SENT TO THE NCDC FOR REVIEW. CoastalWx
It's been going on longer than that....they've often been busting too cold for 2-3 weeks. There are some tricks to beat MOS. I figured today would be an over day, given the temps aloft and strong wsw flow. Just wait if we have some of those days in April with +15C temps at 850 with wsw winds at the surface, and MOS has like 72 for BOS. . I know BOX has bias corrected MOS in house.
