Definitely an interesting week coming up. The clipper Thursday should hopefully spread a nice wide band of snow accumulations for many of us, particularly to the north where they missed out a bit from the previous system.

The weekend system is starting to look pretty interesting to me. The 12z GEM looks like it wants to develop a pretty big storm over the Midwest. Right now it would seem to give Iowa into Wisconsin the best shot of heavy snow, as it cuts into Michigan. The most important thing is it's showing something that's pretty potent.

Temperature here at my place has given up 2 degrees in the last hour or so. Spitting flurries and getting somewhat gusty winds right now. A rather wintry day for sure.

Sure a far cry from the 70s and severe weather outbreak from less than two weeks ago!

The NAO is trending towards neutral. I think the GGEM has a chance to verify. With a weakening block the storm isnt forced as south as the models displaying, thus a more west track. Looks like the NAo is moving from west to east. I could be wrong. Still trying to learn the teleconnections. The PV and NAO are related and as the NAO moves to neutral, the pv moves further north?

Seconded, although if Chicago gets hit hard I likely get pooped on.

As do I, if he gets nailed I most likely get screwed.

Valid points...better than me starting it though. If I do the honors, someone in MT needs make a run to the gas station for fuel for the snow thrower.
