Up to 38.0/25 overcast now.

Suspect most of the snow/ice on my driveway may melt today.

I'm sure we'll torch for a while this afternoon but having a cold start and clouds through late morning will reduce some of the damage. I can't believe there area already places in the 50's!

btw - love to see your bike map sometime.

edit; 37/26 imby

Impressive how localized the LI Sound cooling effect is. BDR is 38F and places just 2-3 miles inland are around 50F.

Micro climate here late winter into mid spring is incredible, last March was an excellent example with places just inland roasting while it was very pleasant and cool within a mile or two of the water.

Wow--what a difference across the region. I thought my 35.9/23 was kind of widespread. Not sure why I thought that, but boy was I wrong.

i just hit 33F now, so it begins. my dewpoint is still only 23 just like yourself.

we only hit 26 yesterday instead of the 34 forecast.

so far i'm very pleased with how things have gone, but i know the worst is to come.

I was reporting temps from a sensor in Amherst not Noho. Sorry for not specifying. It's possible it runs a bit cold and the reported temp might have been 20 minutes old (now showing 35). But it's certainly nowhere near 44 atm here.

I didn't mean to challenge your temps...just reporting how different it is across the valley
