Ji
Should I rattle of the list of why it cant snow in the DC area before January, or wait for for others to enlighten us? its snows alot more in December than it does in January in DC...at least lately. Look at the Dec 5 and dec 19 storms from last year and tell me why it cant snow in DC in December
WinterWxLuvr
The GFS at least seems a little interesting for the period about 6 to 7 days from now. Looks like timing is an issue, but seems to want to hang precip around with temps getting close. Who knows. At least it's within a week and not off in la la land. midatlanticweather
If I am not mistaken, the December 5th event last year was a rain to snow event. I know it was! It can happen. Will it? With GFS, I am doubtful!
Wonderdog
Seems that the solution the 0z and 6z GFS runs come up with on 12/01-02 are interesting to say the least. But having storms form over central NC and or VA and moving NE doesn't seem right. Either they pop off the coast or are App runners. We'll see. He's proclaiming 2012, I just thought I'd take him up on it. In this economy you have to look for ways to make money. I know he's just joking around, so am I.
