40/70 Benchmark
I have no problem with you feeling that winter is going to take a break until March and being vocal about it. But you really shouldn't criticize others for following the pattern and calling them diluted...that's not called for. Fair enough.
HoarfrostHubb
These are lean times to be sure... Our regular group is nipping at each other and no fun for a week out. Just in time for mother nature to spring her trap...
40/70 Benchmark
I'll take any of those. I was all for them when I had a 30" snowpack, but after this crap I'll have like 5" of rea....lol

Well, Nick was right...I shouldn't have worded that so strongly, but I also shouldn't be called a tool for not favoring snow, though I know Steve was just bustn' them. Mr Torchey
PLENTY of winter left, just not over the next 7-10 days, lets enjoy the sun, the fleeting warmth, by this time next week our cravings will be deep for dendrites, and they will be fufilled times ten. Yea this 285 lb boy was walking on the snow last night, well sliding. I still like HMs 24-27 period for a major.

Still about 18-24" there, away from direct sun. About the same here..maybe a little less.
CoastalWx
One thing I'd like to mention is that we do not need a big block over Greenland. Any subtle height rises, and that should help keep confluence to our northeast. I think the odds of seeing a gradient pattern with lots of swfe or miller b's is real..it's just impossible to determine where the storm track would be. CoastalWx
On avg maybe....my yard has more. Yeah that's in the backyard where it's protected. Sun torched areas maybe a foot. Same deal here. It probably looks more impressive there and in your hood especially because the burbs usually have woods to help block some of the sun.

What a gradient between there and areas near the Canal. Always nice to see the areas where you grew up get hit hard..lol. This was the scene after the snow last week, here at home. The snow near the trash barrel is probably 9-10" lower, currently.

Fuc* that....if I wanted to live in Alaska I'd move to Coldfoot. I love the snow but it's outlived it's usefulness after it's fallen. I'd be going stir crazy if all the ponds were covered in snow (no ice fishing), all the bogs covered in snow (no skating) etc etc. I may be able to even rake a little next week....hopefully we get a reload but if we dont it was a great stretch. All you do is shovel a little snow off the spot. That's what they do in NNE and everywhere else. I love the snow. I just hate bare ground, it's dead and depressing. Who would want it. CoastalWx
Shovel it??? No, just use a truck with a plow. Tough to do around here..lol. I have seen a lot of people going ice fishing. This year has allowed for that to happen, with the lack of cutters.

He didn't this week and when I was down there this morning I brushed away some of the snow and the ice looked perfect. 17/7. Clear and cold out there right now. Mr Torchey
29/20 very comfortable out there, kids on the snowramp, I should say Ice ramp, libations flowing floodlights on and the pit is roaring winter for the win!!!!
Damage In Tolland
No, hopefully I'm wrong....could I be, absolutely.
