These are lean times to be sure...

Our regular group is nipping at each other and no fun for a week out. Just in time for mother nature to spring her trap...

Well, Nick was right...I shouldn't have worded that so strongly, but I also shouldn't be called a tool for not favoring snow, though I know Steve was just bustn' them.

One thing I'd like to mention is that we do not need a big block over Greenland. Any subtle height rises, and that should help keep confluence to our northeast. I think the odds of seeing a gradient pattern with lots of swfe or miller b's is real..it's just impossible to determine where the storm track would be.

Yeah that's in the backyard where it's protected. Sun torched areas maybe a foot. Same deal here. It probably looks more impressive there and in your hood especially because the burbs usually have woods to help block some of the sun.

There probably was a few inches more in Hanover as well. What a gradient between there and areas near the Canal. Always nice to see the areas where you grew up get hit hard..lol.

This was the scene after the snow last week, here at home. The snow near the trash barrel is probably 9-10" lower, currently.

Fuc* that....if I wanted to live in Alaska I'd move to Coldfoot.

I love the snow but it's outlived it's usefulness after it's fallen. I'd be going stir crazy if all the ponds were covered in snow (no ice fishing), all the bogs covered in snow (no skating) etc etc. I may be able to even rake a little next week....hopefully we get a reload but if we dont it was a great stretch.

All you do is shovel a little snow off the spot. That's what they do in NNE and everywhere else.

I love the snow. I just hate bare ground, it's dead and depressing. Who would want it.

this is why 98% of canadians are praying for a permanent, strong +AO

only the heartiest of weenies can enjoy themselves here for an ENTIRE winter.

as for ice fishing, there is plenty of that.

My neighbor snowblows a skating rink on the beaver pond after almost every storm. He didn't this week and when I was down there this morning I brushed away some of the snow and the ice looked perfect.

17/7. Clear and cold out there right now.
