Master of Disaster
Is there any safe/open locations for taking photos or doing some watching? Ehh, not sure now, I just got a page that they are closing roads due to poor visibility with the smoke. This is the Indian Grass Ct fire mentioned above. Kmlwx
I'll be heading out soon to do that... Jason may be joining me. Looking forward to seeing any pics you guys get! I might just head out and look for any wind damage near me. The fire near you is a bit far for me but the Laurel one is closer for me if I felt ambitious. WinterWxLuvr
Don't know if this has been posted, but have any of you checked out the dewpoints in central Va? Charlottesville's humidity is 6% and Richmond is 5%. I don't think I've ever seen that.

eyewall
I was just thinking video of the high winds in general. This reminds me of March '97 when I was on LI when I had a Davis which measured a 67 mph gust and all of the siding came off one side of the house. ACFD FIREMAN
This has got to be one of the worst fire days I've seen in my life in our area. Absolutely. I work in a city environment so I'm not used to brush/wildland fires, but listening to the radio traffic from the areas affected, this is a very big deal for our area. In situations like this all you can do is use what resources you have and hope for the best.

This reminds me of March '97 when I was on LI when I had a Davis which measured a 67 mph gust and all of the siding came off one side of the house. I'm going to take one...just nervous to head outside right now. If the wind can flex triple-pane windows, it can hurl a tree at my cranium. wxmeddler
Another round of wind just went through, my 10 min average jumped to 21 mph with wind gusts as high as 41. Recorded on a Davis pro, Anemometer is ineffective above 45 mph. Not bad for a block of trees 30 ft from the station to the NW.
BethesdaWX
I'm taking pictures for sure Massive gust hit around 215PM, Rooftiles from my house & the neighbors are scattered everywhere. The gust also brought down Pine limbs. About to drive up to Germantown to visit family, I'll take pics of any smoke I see there as well.

BethesdaWX
I think alot of the weaker trees/branches may have already come down over the past year. Snowmageddon, 7/25, 1/26, maybe not much left to go.
North Balti Zen
I had to come into work today in downtown Baltimore. I work on the 20th floor of a very solid building but the wind is shaking the building at present. It's an eerie feeling.
