jm1220
GFS coming in quite cold for the 2/22 threat. Confluence looks strong with a nice 50-50 feature. I think it's definitely a feature to watch for the time being, esp. if we develop quasi-blocking to the north as it approaches.
isnice
GFS took a major leap towards the Euro at h5 but still not quite there. Noticably colder and further south with the surface low.
MJO812
It looks like the 12z GGEM followed the Euro. jconsor
Rather sharp SW-NE temperature gradient across the area today with the WAA - from low 50s in central NJ to upper 30s over much of SW CT. Pretty unusual to see a 7F difference between EWR and LGA.

A-L-E-X
I just recorded a 50+ mph gust that literally shook my house and made a few doors slam shut (although all the windows are closed lol.)
A-L-E-X
Holy ****, another gust even stronger than the first one! I thought the winds were supposed to die down after dark because of less mixing
uofmiami
Winds picked up here in Great Neck the past 10 minutes. Had gusts close to 50-55MPH based on the roar I hear by each gust. My weather station at my parent's house gusted to 47 recently. Waiting for a gust over 50 to happen if the winds keep up.

nzucker
Late Feb./March is the wildest month of the year Such awesome temperature gradients...going to be a very active pattern with the SE ridge contrasting against the brutal cold in Canada due to the -EPO/Bering Strait block. Quincy
I was going to question the MOS guidance for tomorrow. GFS MOS has suddenly jumped from 34F to 43F for DXR...probably still too high, but based on trends and obs, we'll probably get well into the 30s tomorrow, with 40s for the City? 850mb temps around -4C and not much snow cover... jconsor
Based on the NAM, Wed should be about 6F warmer in NYC and 4F warmer in DXR than Tue. So I'd go with about 39F for DXR and 42F for NYC. Chilly here....currently 18.0/5 with the stars shining bright. Gorgeous winter night with a few patches of snow still holding on and light north winds stirring. Average low for March 3rd in Southern Westchester is 28F according to The Weather Channel, so we were about ten degrees below that tonight.
