nzucker
Good. Maybe the column ends up colder than modeled for southern areas. Slushy flakes starting to mix in here at 340' in Westchester County, NY...still mostly liquid but you can see in the streetlamp that there's some slush falling. 36.1/34 Thinking about driving up to the Irvington Reservoir where elevations are slightly higher. It's also possible there's a zone stretching across SNE that is nearly isothermal for a good chunk of the BL...like right around .5 to 1C and its just cold enough to hold off melting. Would be an interesting trip........but its at the other end of Westchester from Dobbs Ferry Yeah, those places are kind of far for tonight, I was thinking of heading up the road where the elevations are probably close to 500' and see if it makes any difference. I think I'm going to leave in a couple minutes, since it's clearly the warm boundary layer that's killing me now with 850s being below 0C. Still at 36.0/34 here, slowly dropping but in an agonizing fashion. You can see that it's "trying" to snow but just melting completely before it reaches the ground. That must be a sweet area in North Salem, never explored there but sounds beautiful. I bet the 1000' area averages close to 50" snowfall/year, that's a great spot to have some sneaky elevation. How high was your house?
