CoastalWx
I thinkk we can all take a look around here on Feb 8 and say "it's been a good winter thus far". 13.9/8 Dam right. Cracked 74" even only with 0.8" today.
Ginx snewx
Blinding snow squall ripping thru.. I thought it was foggy until I looked closer Dude you have mammoth banks the wind must be topping them like Mt Everest, there is probably downsloping going on in the neighbors yard, living next to you is like living in West Hartford. ski MRG
LOL that thing is buried. We've taken to calling the site 'Ice Station Zebra'. We've whittled the crew down to just myself and two helpers. Everyone else has been sent to indoor projects in Gt.Barrington. There are two kinds of people, those that can work outside in extreme conditions without much trouble and those that freeze to death. Fortunately, my helpers are also skiers and love the cold. CoastalWx
It's been tough going at 2K, about 4' OTG. Even getting into the site trailers is a challenge. I wish it was always Winter. LOL, nice. That's what the Cape looked like in Jan '05. You know it's bad when you have to dig a backhoe out.

ski MRG
Cold front didn't arrive until later. Even ORH warmed to 34. That temp map that Mike posted showed the position of the cold front rather well. We've only snuck above 32 a couple of times since the Holidays. Had friends that were ice fishing this weekend and they said the ice was 24-30" thick. Spring will be late this year.

Pete, our town business association is doing their annual outhouse fundraiset. They put one on the ice of a local pond and whoever guesses the correct date and time that it goes through wins prizes (including firewood LOL) In 2009 it broke through March 20 Last year was March 13 I'm thinking March 25-27th this season
