CoastalWx
It would be nice for another mdt snow event in the next 10 days. My area has taken a few punches to the chin over the last week or so.

Cold Miser
Another foot+ for the Oklahoma area again tonight and tomorrow....unreal. If didn't already have close to 80", and if we were in a similar spot as last year, the noose would be swinging. But, since I really can't complain - yet, I'm at peace with it. But, since I really can't complain - yet, I'm at peace with it. I like checking out other areas of the country for weather..since that's part of my job. I think that's awesome for them. Usually La Nina give them the finger, but they will have two huge snow events in less than 2 weeks. Last year was amazing for them as well. I agree though, no complaints here, but I will be disappointed in this current quiet period. I admit it. I'd like to see the snow build up imby. Tropopause_Fold
12z gefs ensembles must have a member or two north with the thursday OTS event as measurable precip pretty much gets into all of SNE. low is still way way south though so it's probably just one or two amped up members. edit: check that. half of SNE. not all. A-L-E-X
Will, I still remember some of the pics you showed from that event. I hope you still have them. I think a few other people showed pics too-- of wading in hip deep snow! Wasnt that a wet snow, and if so, it should have lasted at least a couple of weeks even in April. I know April 1982 lasted a week or a bit more here and that was a dry powdery snow.
HarveyLeonardFan
would you take the next 6 weeks being warm/dry if it culminated in 4/97? Does anyone have a map for that event or PNS? ORH_wxman
how long did that stay on the ground? maybe 5-6 days, it got to 70 like 4 days later...the piles were around in early may though

No visual map, but going by my mental map, our area had 1-3 inches with 2 foot plus amounts in SNE right to the coast, and higher amounts than us even in central Jersey were they got 8-10 inches. Busted forecast for us, when 8-12 was forecasted. April 1982, April 1996 and April 2003 were all better for our area, but just to see another April 1997 on the map would be awesome.
