I never at any point expected to beat you.....you're were misinterpreting my angst; I merely wanted a nice refresher

I stand corrected....but I know deep down inside you are thinking about it because that is what snow weenies do. Don't think for one second I do not know that you aren't eying my 76.2" total right now because I know you are...even though I know you are saying "I can't catch that"...but there is a spot deep down inside that is saying "yeah I can"...we are all snow weenies, so I know how that sick mind works.

Will, I'll bet this is the type of event where Don in Arlington heights will get about what I do, but the bottom of the hill will have about butkis.

Agreed...this is the type of event where winter hill might get 3.7" and down at ma_blizzard's place in Shrewsbury he checks in with 1.8" and wonders what the hell is going on when he sees my pics tomorrow morning.

Looking at radar, I think it's fairly safe to assume that a bunch of SNE from MQE to NW RI to NE CT is going to get more than expected in this storm. They're under a vicious band right now and there looks to be another area of heavy precipitation developing near Route 9 in CT. Some of the higher elevations could be in for a nice surprise Snowman.gif

So Will, you're following this from your parent's place right now?

I'm at 840 feet and I think I have close to an inch...maybe. I wish I was back on Winter Hill for this at 955 feet...which might have 1.6" or something...but this isn't going to be an easy snow event.

I don't think anyone is getting over 4" which is what would be the forecast-buster.

You'll be near my elevation soon enough...welcome to the jungle!

the difference between your location and mby in marginal snow / ice events is always noticable .. on sat night there was no ice imby although the temperature was steady at 32.2 from 7 pm to 12 pm :arrowhead:

How much did you get in the Feb 23-24 event last year?

Its possible...but it would likely be brief...Princeton here we come.

But even if I go to N Chelmsford...I'm still beating you...much better spot then Lowell over to Billerica and Wilmington.

No....believe me, I live here and you hold the llc better, obvioiusly, but it's not at all uncommon for me to make out better with regard to snowfall.

I get cf enhancement when they don't, sometimes.

Not a slam dunk, at all.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The models have really backed off on the epic torch though, seems as if the clipper gives us one last cold shot this weekend, there may be a weak disturbance pulling down some chilly air early next week, and then by Day 9-10 the EPO/NAO are both extremely negative again. Definitely a gradient pattern with the highest above normal anomalies confined to areas to the Southwest.

I agree. I know the NE MA climo very well.

But I won't lie...I will have lost a lot of my snow mojo if I leave ORH...despite what pistol "bear-hunting" pete says or MPM....ORH and nearby is the snow capital of SNE for populated areas...and that will hurt losing that along with the ice storm climo. While I don't love ice storms, they do "protect" the snow pack quite a bit as I'm sure you saw from my pics earlier tonight that I took on winter hill. (in the epic snow depth thread and my torch thread)...its never cool for a snow weenie to move to a lesser favorable spot.

What I will admit is that icing is FAR more common in N Chelmsford, than it is imby....you are across that magical line that runs from N Billerica into N Tewksbury and Andover.

Beyond that line sees very little marine influence....it's like a 2ndary rt 128.
