serbiesnow
Just wanted to keep this local to this area. Im looking at GFS modeling, and I just dont see much of a thaw for up here at the current time. I hope the model is right, but I would ask any one out there who has a better insight to this event to chime in. Best I see for me here in the NEK of VT is a day of maybe 35 degrees towards the end of NEXT week, (feb 17th) I am reading all kinds of "winter is over" threads from SNE, and MA, and Penn, etc etc.. Any thoughts on this?
dendrite
If you read Will's thread you'll see he mentions the following week (Feb 15-20) for the thaw...not next week. Obviously we'll be cooler than SNE and if the PV hangs around in eastern Canada maybe we can keep some sneaky low level cold on a few days that look warm aloft. This is NNE though so we'll have snow chances for another 1.5-2 months going into the beginning of April.
OKpowdah
THIS week: 6th -12th ... below normal temperatures, and a few chances for snow. NEXT week: 13th -19th ... warming up. Past the 20th ... thaw probably continuing a few days, and then winter returns at the very end of the month and into March.
dryslot
GFS @18z says what thaw? We could handle a few days if there is going to be a torch up here, Latitude......FTW
