thesnowsknows
I'm trying to rationalize positively here but it's getting tough. The models are pretty consistent with the northern energy so it's getting to that point where inside 96 hours if nothing is changing it looks pretty locked in. mdsnowlover
So things can't get much worse right? or more accurately, it doesn't matter anymore . Lets see if the pendulum starts to come back to neutral in the next couple of runs. If not , too bad.
Bob Chill
So things can't get much worse right? Well....actually....the NS engergy could take a back seat while the southern stream can dig in deep and track to the west...... Jk of course. As of right now it's looking like a tough setup to produce anything meaningful. UA maps aren't holding much of a carrot either. From the beginning of this threat it never really had a classic look for the MA. A chance of everything coming together just right was possible but we never had the right "look" to feel confident enough to say "we are getting snow but how much?". thesnowsknows
I just searched desperately for someone holding faith for this storm but even crackuweather has jumped off the bandwagon. I'm pretty close to punting this one. If Accuweather isn't holding hype then you know something is dead.

Bob Chill
So much for naming storms. I am furious right now with this horrible winter. Jb gave up on the storm today btw That's because the models did. lol I would be interested to hear what JB says if snow is back on the table. No sense giving up anyway. Far from likely but not impossible. I don't get where the relentless accuwx bashing comes from. Accuwx mets are probably required to hype every possible high impact event. It's a business over there and not a public service. It will never change either and I don't blame them at all for what they are doing. They've built a profitable subscription base because of what they do. It's the American way of free markets and capitalism. If my paycheck increased with hype I would hype until I fainted from it. Good for them. I choose to pay zero money and zero attention to accuwx but I don't criticize them at all. They're making a good living and more power to them. If people don't like what they do then just ignore them. I don't like 80% of the channels on my cable box but I don't complain. I just don't watch. I think the reason people bash accweather is because they are deterministic about forecasts in which dogmatic prognostications are completely inappropriate. HM doesn't say it looks like a possible huge snowstorm next week for the MA and NE, he says that there WILL BE a huge snowstorm next week for the MA and NE. There's a huge difference there. By saying something will happen is unfair to the public, and essentially, it's lying. They know those forecasts are premature and irresponsible but they make them anyways to rev people up. I do agree with this statement and totally see where is can be considered a disservice to the public by doing what they do but the same can be said about a lot of news stations on the air. Biased views and alterior motives are all too common in the broadcast industry as a whole.

WinterWxLuvr
bold statement to make considering we still have over 100 hrs left till this storm is even here , im waiting till were inside of 48-72 hrs before i give up, tooo many times this winter we gave up only to see a nw shift in last 48 hrs. This implies that a NW shift happened that helped us. Could you possibly list those examples please. I mean, seriously, we only had one storm, and it was mainly due to a potent upper level feature.
