mitchnick
Wes - I see you lurkin'. That linear line that stretches from S Central KY that skirts just south of SW WVA up thru SW Virginia straight up to my very backyard - What's up with that linear line? That feature has not budged a nanometer all day - What is up with the moisture streaming along that line? http://radar.weather...s/full_loop.php I am starting to get so hopeful for an actual coating of snow on my car top overnight - That I am beginning to blast my 1970s songs again - namely ELO for starters personally, I think the precip breaking out over eastern SC and NC is of more interest Jeb not that its going to make it this far, but just a weenie wish! Jebman
now you can really see the snow falling http://www.nps.gov/w...n/pinnacles.jpg Leesburg04 lives up RT 7 RT 9 - Higher elevations - He may just pick up some snow from this!!!! Believe you me - I know North RT 28 Rt 7 RT 9 like my very own BY - I have been on SO MANY SNOW CHASES - I know that area so well. They are going to get snow tonight - I just know it. Someone farts on RT 9 near Mannings WVA - it snows and Mannings just happens to be a local precipitation maximum in the region - I have verified this personally so many times - They always get more snow than everyone else in the region

usedtobe
Jebman, You could get a coating or flurries. It depends. The 850 pattern is pretty bad for getting much more than that but someone still could see a half inch. I think that's the higher end, flurries are just as possible. Bob Chill
I'm riding the Justin Berk model and tossing in a little Jan 2000. The returns down in NC and SC that are moving NNE are the beginning of a massive convective complex that will cause rapid cyclogenesis. 982 off of OC tomorrow morning. Jebman
Dewpoint is now 12 degrees - Column's been moistening up all afternoon from this relentless conveyor belt overhead that has not budged so much as an INCH all day long - straight from the 22 inch deep Arkahoma Winter Empire Everyone in the Deep South, Chicago and New England who has deep snowpack must be giving themselves serious side stitches from laughing their asses off so hard at me - Because I get so damned carried away - over a coating of snow for krise sake geeze It's a sign of the times in the N VA / DCA Region this winter / Every winter - When i get SO DAMNED EXCITED......................................................................................... ...over a coating of snow, because DCA is in THE exact geographical spot to get fooked by nearly every kind of snowstorm. The Deep South, Chicago and New England are all facing The Day After Tomorrow, whilst DC is high and dry and COLD AS Hell. I blame Global Warming. weathercoins
Justin Berk is great Update at 7:30pm: What do you have? Flurries, light snow, nothing? Here are a few things I've been looking at. The Dew Point temperatures have been climbing, indicating that the air is not as dry as this morning, and the last few hours of light snow/flurries helped to saturate the air a little. The 3 Hour pressure falls show how a stor...m is developing, and where the Low might track. This supports the push north, not off of the coast and staying south. I hope the message got out. Regardless of a big surprise or just enough to be a road problem in the morning, I have been wanted you to be aware this might happen. The light snow and flurries were a few hours ahead of schedule. Any accumulating snow is still hours away, and should end by daybreak. I'll check back around 8pm.
