Jebman
This is just disgusting - Va Beach has a winter weather advisory for 3 inches of snow. Wah wah wah - S VA got more snow than the Jebman in Winter 2010-2011 - wah wah wah It's plenty cold enough for snow now - too bad that the upper 40s over the weekend torched away the rest of my remaining areal snow cover. Fail and Fooked. Virga flizzard in progress overhead - too bad the dewpoint is 9 degrees - any snow will evaporate. We're also fooked by h85 west winds. We're miserable til the bitter end of "Winter 2010-2011" MegaBlock in march will stall a rainmaker for two weeks and ensure we stay nice and miserable cold WET thru most of march and half of april
mitchnick
even though my forecast may have busted at BWI by a couple inches, it ain't looking like a bad call attm with the pattern going zonal, all we have left is a possible late season fluke it seems

mitchnick
its just starting to snow in the Shenandoah Valley take a look at this pic (time sensative) and look to the left side, the furthest southern location visible on this pic and you can see the snow starting to show up against the mt. on the other side of the valley (Massanutten Mt.) it looks like haze, but its snow you can also tell by how the cloud ceiling has lowered vs. to the right (north) http://www.nps.gov/w...n/pinnacles.jpg p.s. I'm not talking the haze closer in the view as I understand that is smoke

Jebman
I like that Justin Berk is going against the grain. http://www.abc2news....rts-of-maryland Justin Berk is a pretty good forecaster - That, and the fact that I just happen to be south of Maryland - Makes me hope for a coating. http://radar.weather...s/full_loop.php See that linear progression that runs ENE right into N VA? It has held true all day long. Moisture continues to run along this line. Virga has been falling overhead for hours, acting to moisten up the column I forecast an 80 percent chance of a coating of snow, with a 40 percent chance of half an inch over parts of N VA overnight. Seems reasonable. North Virginians and south Marylanders look out of for a surprise coating to as much as a half inch of snow overnight - It may not just slide harmlessly out to sea. Virginia Beach still on track for 3-5 inches of snow, maybe even more For us just a dusting, but we should continue to monitor this. This is February. This month can be chock full of surprises. I know the pattern is going zonal in a few days with an upper ridge and 50s/60s for a week - But this still needs watching. Dews up two degrees, to 11 degrees

snownut
just in to thaw my fingers.. the MA certainly has not had a lack of cold this season... it is awful outside trying to hitch up and pull out my trailer... ...sure seem a long wait between the good snow years around here.. I am looking forward to spring even if it is cold and wet... The hard 2 to 4" leftover snow (more like dirty white ice) seems like it will be harder to melt than last years big snow pack... Jebman
Wes - I see you lurkin'. That linear line that stretches from S Central KY that skirts just south of SW WVA up thru SW Virginia straight up to my very backyard - What's up with that linear line? That feature has not budged a nanometer all day - What is up with the moisture streaming along that line? http://radar.weather...s/full_loop.php I am starting to get so hopeful for an actual coating of snow on my car top overnight - That I am beginning to blast my 1970s songs again - namely ELO for starters
