Looks like the band that's done you dirt is starting to slowly sag into Toronto. ~35 dbz showing up on KC radar.

Light snow currently falling in the downtown core. Hopefully those heavier returns on radar will make it here and give us a few hours of heavy snow. My guess right now would be around 2".

Went to bed last night with a 20% chance of snow. I had already detected the models shifting NW so I was thinking i'd see and inch maybe. This morning around 8 it was clear radar wise that I would get a lot more. Ended up with 5.5" of surprise snow, and I have to say the best rates of the year. I know I received 1.5 inches in less than an hour today. So have had nearly 16" since tuesday, :)

also seemed like IWX was playing catch up all day today...... weird for them.

Basically everybody was playing catch up...not just around here but in the southern Plains yesterday. Some caught up a little better than others though.

I knew they were going to do this, especially after being burned earlier this week. They were going to play things too cautious.

Sort of stupid that they upgrade the zone just to our north (Southern York) to a warning yet they don't even touch Toronto's pitiful amounts.

I realize that, but they were very slow today to pick up on trends even after I was going like wtf can't you see radar, guys?

The writing was on the wall last night and by this morning the writing was flashing in neon green. I didn't get why it took them so long to latch on to trends today, literally I was like you, and sitting here wondering if we were even looking at the same storm.

I felt the same way and after they released their first wwa for counties se of me, again I was like "are you kidding me?". We had gotten 2.5" already and radar presentation was killer. Don't know what they were thinking.

Even though the precip was advancing northward already in London at 330pm they still kept me at 2cm. Now we have 14cm 3.75 hrs later!

Edit: Just hit 6". That's a satisfying total right there. 6" in 4 hrs! :scooter:

Hearing some internet chatter of lollipop high amounts in SEMI. 6.5 inches in some localities. Awaiting DTX and their snow totals map.

Not saying DTX failed (simply because how things rapidly shifted ) But could a Winter Storm Warning have been useful? The roads are a complete disaster! Caught many cities way off guard. But then again this was a curve ball system!

Snow is coming down heavy again. I would do anything to pick up an addition 5cm so I can hit 20. That would be the most snow in one day in at least three years here. Oh please please PLEASE! :drunk:

Edit: New total, 6.3". I'm off to work now, hope I'll catch a minute to check the weather, if not I won't know the final tally until early in the morning. Could be a loonng wait. And I'm not shoveling until the snow stops. It looks too beautiful to touch.
