that was a disaster here. 12" forecasted and ended up being a sleet storm. Can't use that one as reason not to feel sorry for us. Might have to refer to Hoosier, he got an epic blizzard from that

We have had 3 really memorable storms in the past 50 years 1978, 2003, and 2008.. Now Im talking winter storms, and ones that most people remember. You could say 1996 etc, but Im talking ones a lot of people remember.

i still remember watching the mos runs come in after the first wave hit. We were supposed to be missed to the southeast with the second wave and then all of a sudden the blues started shifting north dramatically....that was :snowman:

I think the ETA was the only one that did not waver much and kept us in the game the whole time. Most wrote it off to a warm bias. And yeah i remember Cleveland had to do a bit of catching up as i recall the warning had been dropped after part 1 and then was not put back up till after 6 or so had already fallen with part 2.

That was another epic fail here. Right up there with the Dec 2004 HOVS. However atleast with the HOVS i got a few hours of decent heavy snow and some LES on the backside. Both were huge heart breakers here.

1978 was only bad here because of the wind. Snowfall was not that significant in this area. 4.4" officially at CMH. It was far western and northwestern parts of the state that got most of it, as well as Indiana and Michigan. Even that epic storm was largely a miss for central Ohio, as funny as that is to say.

wow local mets calling for 6-8 totals now....one met saying "he called this" yesterday...wtf

In a word, No.

I barely follow the local news here but did last night, heard 1-3" as an average. WTOL mentioned 4" possible last night...13abc said 1-3" this morning. I was thinking 3-5 last night... but that was too low

Very light groupel like stuff here downtown.

TWN reports up to 10 cm down north of Lake Erie already.

Guess we still have to wait and see if we are in screw zone again.

Hmm..decent sized flakes here. Enough snow on the ground you can make a footprint in. Should start to fill in down there shortly, although attm it looks like the heaviest band is actually setting up a bit to our north. :arrowhead:

Yea but 70 mph winds coupled with 4" of fresh snow is superstorm like, especially considering there was already 6 or 7" on the ground.

I can't even remember the last time it snowed this... awesomely :drunk:

Yup, looks like you're in that jackpot zone. I hope it collapses south at some point but I'm thinking maybe we'll have to settle for lighter amounts.

4" at 545pm. This is just... unbelievable. I haven't even seen LES like this.

I'm too afraid to look at radar because I don't want this to end. When you say "lighter amounts" do you mean like 1"? GTA missing out on this altogether?

The VD storm of 2007 was a great storm here, once again, it just failed hitting epic. We had 8.5" of snow, 2 ft drifts, and temps in the low teens throughout the storm.

*****

BTW, it is just awesome out there. The powder snow is flocking on the trees and blanketing the deep carpet of snow already on the ground. Looks like some spots in SE MI will have between 5-6", Ill probably end up between 4-5". Avg snow depth is 15" right now, deepest since Jan 1999.
