CoastalWx
I'd rather have the GFS shows what it does right now, then something over the BM.
40/70 Benchmark
Ray! Ray! You end this with a snowpack that is more robust, crusted over and a couple of inches of powder on top. Then you get some on Tuesday...and maybe buried Thurs Fri. 19069 baby! Keep the faith, join the circle. BWIOCoTFTW Scott, I think it's fair to dread rain from a roof standpoint....I don't care how "satisfied" I should be.

wxsniss
There will always be a break, I can't stress that hard enough. It's ok, the world will continue to exist if we see a milder period. Agree! It's just a contrast to the past few weeks, when we virtually never had a true break. We've been spoiled, 95-96 had much more frequent intervening thaws. I'm referring to some who might feel winter is over, if we have a 1 week break. My folks are leaking as well.

CoastalWx
Man.....trying to get ahold of someone to remove the ice jam, but no dice. It's extremely expensive from what I'm told. wxsniss
Some serious sh*t if we get rain Saturday. We already saw minor urban flooding in Boston metro with last Wednesday's rain... rain to flash-freeze could significantly worsen things this weekend. radarman
GFS saying the departing Tuesday storm gets blocked once it hits a developing scandinavian ridge, and so it sort of hangs around and merges a bit with the PV over eastern canada. It creates a big broad area of low pressure and the s/w in the MS valley is unable to amplify and go negative. Since the last few systems have come in more amped than shown, and the SE ridging has been generally underestimated IMO I agree that right now I'd rather see it SE than over the BM. Hope that Scand. ridge is a bit overdone too, which will allow for some better spacing.
Cold Miser
Man.....trying to get ahold of someone to remove the ice jam, but no dice. Try the chemical tabs that I posted last week. They didn't do **** for me, but might work for you. Many contractors will tell you to leave the jam alone, unless you're sure that you can remove it safely, without doing more damage. Tropopause_Fold
Must have taken you awhile to dig that one up. For the few posters that have been posting about and wishing for a non all snow event for SNE...congrats..you get your wish hopefully no one has been wishing for an all rain event. not that it matters i guess. moneypitmike
Instead of WWA, they may need to post urban street flooding warnings (rgem/gfs).
dryslot
Roof rake and calcium chloride FTW I have said this numerous times, Calcium, The calcium is not the best thing especially for the vegetation but its the lesser of 2 evils and works wonders, The best stuff would be pottasium chloride if you can find it, Its a little more money, Not quite as effetive but thats whats in fertilizer so its not as harmful to shrubs or the lawn.. Cold Miser
Yeah Ray, throw that on the dam if you can. Just salt that crap out of it. If your dam is more than a 3"x3" rectangular tube running across the front of your house, you will need a crap load of salt. Chances are, it is a big fat log of ice. sprinkling a bit of salt won't be enough. This will probably require numerous applications. I will be working on the icicles, and then maybe some salt applications.
