wxmanmitch
Didn't get the thunder but had a heavy sleet/zr downpour but it was brief. I'm watching that wrap around as well. A quick 1-3" seems likely. What's your season total up to now Mitch, you must be between 80-90"? Had plain old rain here with lightning and thunder. Torched up to 35, but now dropped back to 34 and slowly falling. Had ZR up to about 5:30 PM, but glaze has now melted. I downslope on a SE wind, which is why warmed once the wind started up. My seasonal total is probably around 80". I need to do some math and add it up. Seasonal norm is about 75", so I'm already ahead of it. I'm expecting about an inch with the wrap-around, perhaps a bit more at 2K.
wxeyeNH
What is making this interesting is the amount of lightning over New England tonight. It is not that unusual to have some lightning in winter storms but it is amazingly widespread over much of the area. This is what is making this so unusual! tavwtby
Went from 33 and calm to 40 and cranking winds within one hour. No precip falling though, hoping for a little white stuff later. Thoughts on this weeks storms...near miss Tues, and a solid hit late week? Haven't been paying attention to models past two days.
cheetah440
LOL. Snowed at the start and should be snowing here in 2-3 hours. I was practicing with my sand wedge the other day. Hitting out of snow is similar except it's nearly impossible to find the ball after the shot. I might need that shot come the 31st if this keeps up. I've been getting a round in about every 3 weeks which is good to keep from getting too rusty. But I need to get my ass on the skis and sled soon. I feel like that scene in Stripes when they are sleeping through the final. "We're missing it" That's the fact Jack!

Shaun Curry
In looking at the radar, it appears this line of storms moved from around Westerly, RI to the greater Boston area in about an hour. Matt Noyes tweeted that: "Thunderstorms racing over Boston area are moving NE at about 80-90 mph. Just ran 50mi Providence to Boston 28 minutes". Of all the crazy things this winter, that seems the craziest.

ORH_wxman
I think I'll hit 34.... The high is probably when the wind goes W and WSW and the puke airmass to the SW advects in. I could see it doing something like spiking to 36-37F with the SW wind after the front passes....but at least in that case the dews would be lower versus having a 37/37 type airmass. Ginx snewx
When do the Severe Thunderstorm Warnings get hoisted? I posted that when that cell hit me, lots of house fire reports coming from sky warn, winds gusting over 40 here now, steadily more frequent gusts and louder. Went from perfectly calm to ripping, like the backside of a cane only much lighter version obviously.
