butterfish55
Wow...46.0/46 WIsh it wasn't raining out so I could throw open all the windows for some fresh air Had the closest lightning strike and instant crack of thunder I've ever had about 20 minutes ago. Shook the whole house. Must have been really close, but never lost power

DomNH
Ice accumulation on the trees in Pepperell making me a little nervous.... Nah, we're fine. It's not worth being nervous until my birch is so weighted down it touches my patio. It's only about halfway there now.

Ginx snewx
Had some thunder and lightning about 30-40 minutes ago with a different set of convective cells that came through here. Temperature has topped out and is now slowly dropping. I expect a quick burst of moderate snow around midnight as that wrap-around stuff comes through. Slightly OT, but NAM continues to show Monday night and Tuesday as a near miss with some light rain along the south coast. Pretty low thickness and temps for rain? Slightly OT, but NAM continues to show Monday night and Tuesday as a near miss with some light rain along the south coast. Didn't get the thunder but had a heavy sleet/zr downpour but it was brief. I'm watching that wrap around as well. A quick 1-3" seems likely. What's your season total up to now Mitch, you must be between 80-90"?

DomNH
Temperature is skyrocketing here. It was 38.3 at 10:00 PM, now is 43.6 at 10:11 Yeah, probably not going to be able to hold on to this ice much longer and I bet it's just creeping above freezing now. Rain getting heavier, end ice is probably about .2'' of accretion on trees/powerlines.
40/70 Benchmark
I'm willing to bet that I will never see vivid thunder and lightning with a 27" snowpack again, until the day I die.

weathafella
Pretty low thickness and temps for rain? BL too warm along S Coast. H9 to the surface above freezing with 2m in the upper 30s on the NAM.
wxmanmitch
Pretty low thickness and temps for rain? Low-levels are warm with the warm air advection out of the south. Mid-levels are okay. It would take a stronger storm closer to the coast with heavier precip and dynamic cooling to get snow in a scenario like this.

Actually, I've seen it before although not sure I had that much snow. During late winter of 1958, the March snowstorms always came with intense thunder. Already there was deep snow. Mid storm 4/1/97 had alot of thunder and lightning in my by. So who knows...you might see it.

weatherMA
WTF. I was playing ping-pong with my brother in the basement so I didn't hear anything. I didn't expect to miss thunder and lightning with zr and 32F Congrats? Up above freezing here, 33.2F and quickly rising, was 32.8F 3 minutes ago. I was practicing with my sand wedge the other day. Hitting out of snow is similar except it's nearly impossible to find the ball after the shot.
