cpickett79
That's our damaging wind threat and quick flip to snow cold front umm yes and along those lines the ESE trajectory of that squall line seems to be in conjunction with a "pulling of the 5h low more due east on wv.. ski MRG
+SN 500PM...snow begins and moves in like a wall. 600PM...2.0"...rate 2/hr 620PM...2.5"...rate 1.5/hr 2" in the first hour, then in the 20 minutes it took me to walk my dog there was another half inch. BTV picked up over .2" of liquid equiv in the first hour and 20 minutes... at 10:1 ratios they are just over 2" at 6:19pm which fits with what I'm seeing here. Hut ,Hut, Hut... That's a nice (figuratively) push of relative warmth into CT. Mid-30's into Glastonbury/Willimantic into northern Putnum County. Better put the brakes on that bad boy! 40/70 Benchmark
All you have to do is look at temps on LI and the cape to see it isn't happening How does LI look, now.... I still say Tues is sh**. Thursday has big potential....all in all, I think that we are seeing a Feb slump, as we so often do in big years. Feb is so overrated, imo....I know it's ar ebest snow-month climo wise, but it doesn't seem like it. 31.9\30....only surface taking on any ice is the pavement.....not the snow or cars. Mr Torchey
We have a ton of snow on the ground, lots more to come as well, but I have to be honest, it feels really nice outside right now, a very brief warmup in an epic winter.

Mr Torchey
Tomorrow is going to feel like baseball. Its funny Dom, everything is relative, this winter has been so cold for so long, that low to mid 40's literally feels warm out there right now, any other winter (here) it would be no big deal, just the usual dissapointment. Quincy
Impressive event last 20 minutes, temp has risen from 34 to 41 winds are east now. I assume its the coastal front, did not expect it to come through my area this soon, snow pack intact, a lot of compression ice on top is like granite, however roofs (thankfully) are melting quickly water pouring off my roof as I raked it and there was not much left. Nice cleansing tonight, snow coming Tuesday. odd, DXR dropped a degree as of 7pm, to 34F. will see if the front makes it here...

Whats even more crazy is BDR only like 5-10 miles to my east is still 37, but they are literally "IN" the sound so any wind direction besides n will cool them this time of year. Typhoon Tip
Temp settled back to 31.9 here where I am in Ayer and immediately the roads sheened over in a flash. It almost looks like it snowed because the traffic is chewing up the glaze as it is freezing, creating slush. Metalic sfc are icing over and there are small icicles now on the shrubbery - that's my nerd analysis, but seeing N drain starting up...
Logan11
I tell you life isn't fair. Ray's bad ju ju spread all the way back here. But the good stuff didn't get to me in past events. LOL Half inch of sleet, some ZR, 29 and encased now..... What a travesty of an event... Long live the US models and their 250 mile 36 hour range error. Tuesday may track over Boston yet.
