One of the most dangerous walks home I've ever had. Worked at the middle school today which is usually a 25-minute walk...took me about 50 minutes. Slipping everywhere. Got completely soaked as well. I was walking in front of my house and saw yellow caution tape which said "Caution High Voltage" scared the crap out of me...not sure why it's there but it's blocking off the entire front yard.

I love too how it's 32F outside

SREFs yesterday hit the potential for a sneaky period of icing in N ORH county/ SNH out W through GC. I thought it might be a problem for awhile and its turned out to be kind of a nasty night out there with the glazing occurring.

Even here at almost 34, ice on the shaded areas of sidewalks. Must be pretty icy out your way.

One of the low spots in the hood that we board off and flood so the kids have a place to skate is totally frozen still. It's sheltered by at least 25-30 feet on all sides...neat little fog as you drop into it. Water was freezing on contact until about six when winds picked up. Sans the winds I think it would have stayed frozen.

Impressive event last 20 minutes, temp has risen from 34 to 41 winds are east now.

I assume its the coastal front, did not expect it to come through my area this soon, snow pack intact, a lot of compression ice on top is like granite, however roofs (thankfully) are melting quickly water pouring off my roof as I raked it and there was not much left.

Nice cleansing tonight, snow coming Tuesday.

+SN

500PM...snow begins and moves in like a wall.

600PM...2.0"...rate 2/hr

620PM...2.5"...rate 1.5/hr

2" in the first hour, then in the 20 minutes it took me to walk my dog there was another half inch. BTV picked up over .2" of liquid equiv in the first hour and 20 minutes... at 10:1 ratios they are just over 2" at 6:19pm which fits with what I'm seeing here.
