powderfreak
Yay 32.0\29 With a temp exactly at freezing and a dew below freezing, how are you not icing? lol you are right about never seeing ice there in Wilmington. I would've thought with a wet-bulb just below freezing you'd be able to accrue.
40/70 Benchmark
There will never be a better moment to verify the veracity of your thermo... Verified.....driveway and rail starting to get slippery....snowpack still just mushy.
free_man
fairly decent icing going on here. Looks like .2-.3" accretion through my weenie zr goggles, haven't done a complete walk around yet. Dense fog, too. 30.7/ 28.
40/70 Benchmark
Ray did you ice up during the Dec '08 event? One brief hint of it for about 20 minutes....thin film on the roof of car...that was it. Not before....nor after.
dendrite
Flipping back and forth between snow and sleet depending on the echoes. 24.3F with mostly snow right now.

MainePhotog
Heavy echos on my GRLevel radar down by PWM moving NE. I venture to say I may be getting sleet soon. +SN 29.1°F

SNORH
That's really weird. Most areas around N ORH county are beginning to ice up a bit. Around 1000 ft in Hubbardston - Hovering 31.5 - 32 for the last 3 hours. Light glaze on trees and cars..but just barely..slighty warmer surfaces are just wet. Can we get to straight rain or will we hover with ice?
ORH_wxman
what's up with temps this evening....are SE winds gonna increase over the coast....the 495 belt....what? They will eventually rise some...but right now the ageostrophic flow is almost due north or even northwest....so the sfc low will have to come closer to get the real wind to come more out of the SE...ageostrophic N and NW flow is keeping SFC winds more E and NE. MaineJayhawk
Heavy echos on my GRLevel radar down by PWM moving NE. I venture to say I may be getting sleet soon. +SN 29.1°F Yup, I have 35 dBZ echoes crushing me ... but it isn't heavy heavy snow. There's snow, but it's mixed with ice pellets and other mutant forms of frozen material. Beats the hell out of rain, though.
CoastalWx
One brief hint of it for about 20 minutes....thin film on the roof of car...that was it. Not before....nor after. This storm will do very little to your snowpack..perhaps compress it a few inches. Tomorrow may do more damage.

HoarfrostHubb
I am straight rain and 35 degrees. Kinda weird that south of here it's colder. I am at about 1000 feet elev. too. That is strange. I never actually broke 32F (31.8 was my high... I know, rounding, etc) Icing pretty good here. Have to go out to run an errand and pick up my son. This will suck.
