dendrite
Although front is forecast to be through there soon...I suppose flakes could be mixing in now. JST went over to snow recently. Maybe, but the AWOS present wx sensors can do these lousy things at times. It's flipping around from -DZ to -SN to RA to UP. mahk_webstah
All snow. quite heavy for a bit...started with a nice fluffy snow which mixed with sleet, went over to sleet and then a half hour ago huge parachute snow...just beautiful and fast accumulating. Flakes are a little smaller now but still moderate snow it appears. Hey Wye, no worries it may go to sleet, but then back to some heavy snow. weatherMA
Temp continues to drop steadily here.. 32.2 from 32.5 twelve minutes ago. Everythings wet right now but I wonder if we start icing up soon? It might be harder now that we got some rain though (.04).
moneypitmike
Looking at the radar, I'm somewhat concerned that the ice may come in a little heavier than forecast here in the hinterlands. With the exception of about 15 minutes, we've had a zr situatoin. Upstream looks to continue to build with the NE trajectory into west county. Unless the temp should climb, I might be thankful to have bouught a generator. Suspect that won'te be the case, but I think we may get more ice than our advisory advises. I suppose we could end up sleeting or snowing, but I'm not sure what the mid-levels portend at this point. Thoughts on the above from any of the mets? MaineJayhawk
Ouch. I was pretty much expecting it. When it showed me with 5" I thought that I'd take it and run. Not a big snow event, but with temps loitering around 30F it won't be a big loss either.

powderfreak
Snow moved in like a wall... love these type of quick-hitting storms. Montpelier (MPV) went quickly from --SN to +SN and it looks like we are doing the same here. NAM and GFS both show over a half inch of QPF (NAM has over .75" QPF) falling between 7pm and 1am. Going to be fun to watch this play out this evening. Heavy, heavy snow baby.
