Eh, so you take a minor hit. We try again next week.

We really need to take a step back and realize we are in unprecedented territory, so it's surprise we may not be able to sustain such a ridiculous snowpack. However, we get a second chance next week.

Still may be a flip to snow for you before dawn Sunday.

Feb 1969 had more.

What pissed me off is that we had total agreement at 48hrs out that we were going to thread the needle.....I was still weary....I called this a rain event days ago, but when the hammer actually dropped at the last moment it still blew.

LOL, C'mon man. You are bordering an all time record. There's a reason why they can't be touched. Maybe you can next week.

I missed it by 7"...it is what it is....great, but not "unprecedented"....there is indeed precedent for a greater extreme.

For having that deep of a snowpack for so long, it's unprecedented. I don't remember it ever like this and many elders said the same thing. What was you max..33"?? It may be years before you see that.

I believe it maybe, but that isn't what you said....you simply said unprecedented....thought you were referring to peak depth.

Well more or less for ern mass, it is. I don't mean that for 3 hrs after a fluff blizzard, you might touch 30"...of course you may. But it's unprecedented for most of us east of ORH.

If 1969 was the last time depths got to this size in many of the lower elevations and coastal plain (I think 2001 was deeper in the interior), folks are likely going to have to wait a long time to see this again, haha.

This depth is not unprecedented......for longevity of a 20"+ pack, maybe.....but the former simply isn't the case.

Likey my fav winter of all time, but facts are facts.

Where in E MA is this the greatest snow depth on record....not se MA (96 and maybe 05), not Boston (96).....not here (69) and not ORH ('01).

Yeah this has been more impressive than 1996 for almost all of E MA and more impressive than 2005 as well for duration of 2 foot plus snow pack...not counting far SE MA and Cape Cod. Almost everyone will get a chance to have a net gain between now and next Friday...whether that pans out is another story, but its really pretty incredible. We could easily be staring down the barrel of a Jan 1996 meltdown with zero hope for snow in the next week, but that is not the case. Hopefully we continue to cash in...can't do it on 100% of the events, but missing one like this wouldn't be a big deal in the scheme of things.

As we always say, we'll have chances and that's all you can ask for at this point.

Obviously it was said sarcastically.. you just sounded a bit disappointed with a 33-inch depth but tone is difficult to understand sometimes.

Not dissapointed....just said this was my fav winter....I'm just bluntly stating FACTS.....NOT opinions.
