Hoosier
We'll get at least a bit of snow from this. It looks like the brunt could pass to the east but considering what we've gone through lately with slower/more amplified waves, I wouldn't let my guard down. It looks like the brunt could pass to the east but considering what we've gone through lately with slower/more amplified waves, I wouldn't let my guard down. Hoosier, you nailed it, this just in from IND AFD: SHORT TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/ MAIN CHALLENGE TO THE SHORT TERM WILL BE POPS AND SNOW AMOUNTS AS A TROUGH ACROSS THE PLAINS DIGS SOUTHWARD. MODELS DIFFER ON PLACEMENT ON QPF WITH THE 12Z GEM...00Z ECMWF AND 12Z NAM FURTHER SOUTHEAST THAN THE SOUTHWARD TRENDING 12Z OPERATIONAL GFS. MODELS ALL AGREE ON THE BEST FORCING THERE WITH BEST ALBEIT MODEST QVECTOR CONVERGENCE FROM 850-500 MILLIBARS AND BEST 1000-850 MILLIBAR FRONTOGENESIS AS WELL. SO...WILL USE A BLEND OF THE SOUTHEAST MODELS AND GO WITH THE HIGHEST STORM TOTAL AMOUNTS SOUTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL WITH 3-4 INCHES THERE DECREASING TO AN INCH AND A HALF NORTHWEST. THE ACCUMULATION SNOW SHOULD START LATE SUNDAY MORNING OR AFTERNOON ACROSS THE NORTHWEST COUNTIES AND SPREAD SOUTHEAST SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY WHEN THE HIGHEST SNOW AMOUNTS WILL BE. THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO EVEN GET MORE SNOW...BUT LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE MIXED WITH RAIN SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING BEFORE THE SOUNDINGS STAY BELOW FREEZING. ARCTIC AIR WILL THEN SPREAD SOUTHEAST ACROSS CENTRAL INDIANA STARTING MONDAY NIGHT AS THE THROUGH SLIDES EAST OF CENTRAL INDIANA. WITH SNOW PACK IN PLACE...WENT WITH THE COOLER NAM MOS FOR SUNDAY. WITH CLOUDS INCREASING SUNDAY NIGHT...LEANED TOWARD THE SLIGHTLY COOLER GFS. TEMEPATURES A LITTLE MORE UP IN THE AIR MONDAY NIGHT WITH THE ARRIVAL OF THE ARCTIC AIR...FOR NOW WILL JUST USE A BLEND OF THE COLDER GFS AND NOT AS COLD NAM. A LOT WILL DEPEND ON SNOW COVER AND IF BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS ARE REALIZED.

buckeye
nice little low over WV... about 12 hours slower with precip coming in monday late afernoon vs. overnite sunday. Not sure how much we have to worry about a nw trend with this due to the energy coming in on it's tail. Would probably keep things moving.

dilly84
I'm rooting against this storm. I'm like Harry. I think this thing needs to stay weak and more south to help out the Thursday system. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

Didnt see the one behind it solid light snow with moderate bursts here with large flakes system still looks decent on SAT i think some spots in N IL will pick up 2 inches
Thundersnow12
solid light snow with moderate bursts here with large flakes system still looks decent on SAT i think some spots in N IL will pick up 2 inches ya pretty decent look to it on WV probably near a half inch here already with SN now and good sized dendrites. OceanStWx
A nice 1.8" here at the office. It was really pouring large flakes on the drive in at 4. And boy is it refreshing to measure snow with no wind, all the snow boards had exactly 1.8" on them.
Chicago WX
Snowing decently here at the moment...won't amount to much as most of the action will remain north of here. But I can imagine a winter hater here in LAF waking up right now, looking out the window, and thinking ah hell...not again.

Love snow...but running a snow business when an inch is forecasted and you get 3-4 inhces.....been a loooooooooooooonngg week! we could very well be close to 3, i tend to low ball my amounts. Nice little event indeed and congrats on the banner stretch. Was nice to have a snow that actually stuck to branches and covered up the huge patch of bare grass, yes bare grass outside my apartment that was blown to Madison during the blizzard.
