In huge snow years when Dec/Jan are epic, Feb always is "pedestrian". 1994, 1996, 2005 are the most recent examples.

So I expect BOS to have no more than 20 this month (and we already have 10.4 there). March determines whether or not we go to the races with a new record. I suspect 2/21-3/15 are as epic as the past 3 weeks. Then we relax for a well deserved rest as spring comes in early.

I'm wondering if we have a horrible April and May. I certainly hope not, but we are due for those horrible months.

We get some nasty DZ/FG CAD up here in the spring sometimes, but the nice thing about living here versus Rockingham County in SE NH is avoiding those sea breezes on sunny days. I like those late April days where it is low 70s here and mid 50s at PSM.

TUE COULD MUCH STRONGER THAN PEOPLE THINK TODAY. Models are trending stronger . dont be surprise we have good snowstorm on tue . Dont count out late week storm from coming up the east coast . If tue storm is stronger than thur will come up the east coast . Winter isnt over by long shot .

Exactly....then we add on 25"+ in the last hurrah, come March-April.

all the signs are there on the model runs the past few days.

the longwave pattern looks very threatening out west.

its gonna take a heckuva effort and some serious smoke and mirrors to keep the warmth at bay.

Blah.....snowpack will be crap by the time we really add on again.

Time to cater my interest toward total season snowfall, as opposed to depth.

LOL, I'm more trolling than anything. The euro op flips around all over the place after d6.

Not sure if it can come all the way back in time for us..though it could. I'd bet we se a run or 2 get snow up into central and southern Jersey. Sometimes these are how the big ones start..looking like misses and then one run boom.

Remember the Boxing day debacle..when it was OTS and then we got the Christmas miracle..Recall there were runs that crushed us before it went OTS. Something to keep in mind

that was the most important event as far as deciding the direction a season goes as far as i can remember. i equate it to the euphoria of the sox combing back down 4 to beat the yanks.

we had a model comeback in the bottom of the 9'th.....only to have the HPC folks memorably tossing out any and eventually every solution that showed snow....you could excuse someone for thinking

it was a bad dream. After that storm hit by miracle and gave most a foot + now we were set up to have (according to stats) a snowier january....and then here we are now.....looking like were on pace

for a top 5-10 winter EZ. That storm got the ball rolling on a wicked snowy winter like the sox comeback ended the curse like no other conceviable series of victories could have done as convincingly.

Thursday is far from a done deal. kev is right on that. Tuesday too, temps are a prob though.

Ray will be walking around in his mankini like the yoga guy in couples retreat by valentines day. The thaw is already here, we get a reprieve and then more warmth.

Controlled melt ftw.

46 here, only a few more days and the college aged girls will be tanning on the Charles

The fat lady sings and the mower grumbles..

I agree, but the threat has cetainly taken a hit....like I said, I won't give up until I see the whites of the whiff's eyes.
