+SN
I saw that, it would be nice to get any wintry precip. I think we will see some sleet, considering the low dew points and relatively low temps.

Riptide
Wow...thought that was a joke WWA until I checked. But they removed the sleet they had for me in the morning forecast with the afternoon update This is rather interesting, the CAD is becoming more impressive, probably because of the low dewpoints. Dr No
I thought it felt raw out this evening- 42/27. A month later and it would be different story with Ice before the WAA took over. BTW, the December 1 event looks interesting with a second wave forming along the front.

Amped
Also depends on what's up above though. Dry air, very little precip makes it to the ground. NAM and the RUC show very little precip until tomorrow night..

wxmeddler
I think... we're hitting the wet bulb.. and its having a real affect above us. This is from the SERF- ETA 2 (the closest to what is happening) of IAD from BUFKIT. Instead of the red line, the precip is making it down to the surface and now were more closer to the blue line (wet bulb temp), what a difference a few degrees can make. Evaporational cooling FTW. das
Confirmed Sleet at my house in Severna Park ( 7 miles north of Annapolis)! Sleet was at my house (Clarksburg, MD) at 3am with a surface temp of 36F. Lasted around 30 minutes and was loud enough to wake me up. I was too lazy to see if there was any on the ground when it changed over tho...
