Starting to lean into that camp myself it was a good run though and the snow thats here is going to stay for a while either way.

Wow.

Many folks ringing the bells of DOOM, and it's only the beginning of February. If I didn't know better, I'd think that you all believe the stupid groundhog crap.

This storm is driving me nuts, I am planning to drive up to New England this weekend to do some skiing and I cant get a good handle on what ski reosort area is likely to get the best snows... any local opinions of what my best bet would be? I have been considering between Stratton/Mt Snow area, Jimminy Peak, or perhaps a smaller resort further east if there are any good ones that might get dumped. Any thoughts? I have been aching to try out my new powder skiis and keep missing fresh snow.

Anything in S. VT: Magic, Stratton or Mt Snow Area

Berkshires: Butternut is nice, Berkshire East is better vertical and probably better snow.

If you come I-91 and need dinner before heading home stop in downtown Greenfield at The People's Pint (brew pub, good local food), Magpies (killer wood oven pizza) or Hope and Olive (eclectic and slightly more $).

Have fun!

I think there will be more rain/tainted storms in Feb/Mar, but I wouldn't be surprised to see 1 more KU, fwiw.

Drove down from maine to attleboro today. Took 495 much of the way. There looked to be a very narrow but significant swath of ice south of the pike that seemed to peak in accretion in the milford/bellingham area...then disappeared almost completely by the time i got past franklin. Looked pretty nasty in milford.

It was. I drove through it heading to the office in Stow and it was heavy freezing rain around that area. Who wants to work from home when its raining and 35 degrees there if its snowing/mix at the office?

where?

Virginia....?

I get the sneaking suspicion if we don't see things flip in the next week winter will slowly return to more normal the rest of the year. Saturday looks warmer than white for areas that were in the snow a week ago (me)...Tuesday could be a mucho torcho....CNE and NNE FTW the rest of the way?
