usedtobe
do you get laid off when winter is over and then you come back next year or are you full time? I think I get laid off since fishing, golf and outdoors stuff takes priority but I might occasionally write something about a big rainstorm. The gfs and euro are interesting for next week as are a couple of ensemble members so hopefully, there will be a good outcome eventually.

mappy
You can FINALLY use that new umbrella! I was very disappointed this morning when I went to walk the dog and it was only a light drizzle that wasn't worth using the umbrella over. I am looking forward to a nice downpour for sure. If it's not going to be light fluffy snow, then it might as well rain. None of this in between crap.

chris21
http://voices.washin...et_no.html#more A comparison to last weeks storm. Hey Wes, I'm heading out to Canaan Valley this weekend, based on prior experience it seems like the fri-sat storm would be snow out there but its really hard to get an accurate weather forecast for that part of the world. Any ideas? Thanks

Any ideas? Thanks There is a really good canaan weather blog here: http://canaanweather.4t.com/ and whitegrass updates a blog daily with ski conditions/pics/videos: http://www.whitegrass.com/report.html I know because I do a bit of xc out there. I think its snowing there right now.

SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Yeah, those are great websites, still hard to find a remotely accurate forecast though NWS doesn't do a bad job IMO.

Any ideas? Thanks Chris, that's a little out of the area I try to forecast for. I'd guess that the system would end as snow there and if the GFS is right that there could be some accumulation. I think you'd do better to get a zone forecast from the NWS.
