Joe Vanni
Wow! From hours 168-174 it drops from 991mb to 973!!! 18mb drop in 6 hours! Now if only it wasn't a week away. But I do like the potential.
WxUSAF
Wow...that's some nice porn. Too bad it's Day 7-8. The good thing is the Euro and GGEM also like the idea of a storm next Wed/Thurs (or at least they did on previous runs).
thesnowsknows
I agree with Ian. Too much on the map to suggest this is fallible. I don't buy it. Sorry.
Midlo Snow Maker
whoa...GFS has a biggie there. Almost in the believable range. Hmm day 7 always the money shot!! now from here on out the hi will slide off the coast more the 850's will warm the S/W will trend north and west by saturday we will be giving congrats to buckeye
Ian
I agree with Ian. Too much on the map to suggest this is fallible. I don't buy it. Sorry. the 500 track is nice. the big cold west may save us without a high in a good position but with one drifting out to sea i would not be sure. ensembles suggest we'er near neutral nao around then which has been good for precip lately at least. usedtobe
whoa...GFS has a biggie there. Almost in the believable range. Hmm At that time range with this pattern, I'd be happier if it were a little more suppressed. If the northern steam digs a little more and pulls the low a little more to the west, we'd be in trouble. Still it's showing one of the many gefs solutions. Storm potential in that time range looks reasonable give or take a day or two.

But we have something to track, and then plunge into depression as what you described above happens.
WxUSAF
Storm potential in that time range looks reasonable give or take a day or two. Exactly. Almost all the GFS ensembles and the other global models are keying on a storm sometime between Tues-Thurs next week. There's going to be a good amount of cold air in play for our area. That's good enough for me at this range.
