real
D.T. has been a joke recently. I'm about to unsubscribe to his thing. He seems to be rooting against snow now and he get his mind set on something and then puts on blinders and bashes every model run that doesn't fit into his narrative -- which has been wrong more than right so far. kurtstack
Yeah.. 1"+ is a meh this winter around here It's a fast mover, but it appears it has a large overrunning precip shield well ahead of the low making it to the coast. That would be pretty sweet IF it were to verify.

Ian
it seems this should be much more impressive at the surface for monday late/tuesday early. http://www.nco.ncep....fs_500_096m.gif http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/00/images/gfs_500_102m.gif

That said, it would imply a shot at some snow from the h5 vort passage.

psuhoffman
yeah i guess i didnt need "much" but it barely shows any precip. i'd think there'd be a little more at least. I think the GFS implies there would be some 1-3" snows around from the upper level energy passage. Expecting a global model to pick up on dynamically driven precip from an H5 vort at this time range is a little much. The implication is there. IF the GFS is right about the H5 its probably a 1-3" snowfall around somewhere in our area.

GGEM looks good too. Something to track this weekend.
