LOL at some schools going for the trifecta of snowdays. Peabody, Sutton, just a few examples.

Tolland #11 tommorow maybe? :lmao: :lmao:

LOL nah they won't do it tomorrow..A delay for sure though. They've had 9 so far. Not 10

There is a town meeting tomorrow night to decide which vacation to take away to make up some of the days

LOL, that's exactly what it was.

Graupel is formed in convective clouds. Convective cumulus clouds have tons of moisture in them. Sometimes snowflakes fall into a warm layer and partially melt or become heavily rimed in a layer that is around -5C or so. This is what gives it the hail appearance. It some ways, it forms in similar ways.

This storm had quite a bit of lightning to the east.

Similar thing happened at Midway last night.

Al TV Mets in RI at 6pm - "A little drizzle and freezing fog tonight Maaaybe some light snow showers...a dusting."

After the WWA came out - "A little freezing rain and some light snow showers....maybe a dusting...or an inch.... or maybe 2."

Hahaha. I knew we had the chance to get some good snows tonight. They were model hugging again.

Thunder! Nice flash of lightning. Wow! This stuff is convective.

Crap, I headed out just after 6:30...must have missed it. I knew I shouldn't have spent all that time on the phone before I left work.

Graupel the size of large peas here. Wow.

I caught the tail end of the precip, but I guess that stuff had already fallen. Damn, I thought that was some kind of salt that was thrown around.

I was suddenly taken aback at the height of some of the snowbanks along the sidewalks on the way home this evening. I mean some of them are around 5 feet right along the streets. That's pretty crazy for the city.

no way dude - totally necessary. have you driven anywhere around here you'd agree!

Most cars buried in the median that I've seen in the last decade thanks to the Freezing drizzle pouring down in the mid 20s. I-195 East of Providence was like driving down the luge. WWA well warranted this evening.

That happened out here in Gardner and Quabbin due to the '08 ice storm. They used 4 days of Feb vacation and still got out June 26 or so.

More snow days in the future. We have had 5 for my place

How much did you get today? more importantly how was Magic?

Total for the two days so far is 13.5 but we're laying some more down right now. Magic was fantabulous. All steep terrain open and covered with tons o'snow. Nice thing about them being closed TUE/Wed/ Thurs (unless it's a powder day) is the whole mountain was unskied when we caught first chair. Freshies. Even had to get roped off the chair when it broke down around 3:30. Bonus free ski voucher. All in all a great day. What's the story with the weekend system? out of the loop today.
