OKpowdah
This storm busted low even for the snh peeps. busted low for pretty much all of the northeast it looks like. Pretty predictable by anyone who was willing to keep an open mind and not get drawn into the performance over the midwest and the model QPF. However, there was a fairly limited number of those people.

I think most of us yesterday mentioned we would likely see qpf less robust than models were spitting out. Of course there will always be the qpf huggers. His Snownh swinging from side to side somewhere??

dryslot
Part of the problem is most roofing contractors (or other people doing roof snow removal) are flat out. A lot of contractors are only responding to emergencies where leaking problems or structural roof problems are eminent. There just isn't enough manpower to deal with all these roofs. Any flat roof bldg should have top priority
free_man
This storm busted low even for the snh peeps. 6.2" today, 5.4" yesterday. 11.6" I said anything under 12" would be a disappointment, so it's pretty close. I personally went with 12-14" here. And yeah those ASH/Amherst totals are awful as Domain said.

I think most of us yesterday mentioned we would likely see qpf less robust than models were spitting out. Of course there will always be the qpf huggers. His Snownh swinging from side to side somewhere?? Even *less* QPF would have still delivered a good 8-14" event today I think. Ratios underperformed in a big way, and the duration was even more limited than anticipated. I certainly hope snownh is okay. The only reason I'm on this forum is for his insight. I cherish every one of his daily 5 posts.
dryslot
Where do you blow the snow? Onto the sidewalk 30-40' below? Wouldn't want to be walking by. Rope off the area, C'mon guys, This is done up here all the time in the city

weatherwiz
I just don't see this issue getting any better anytime soon, especially with the potential for two more storms within the next week...just a hit...doesn't matter what p-type is just going to cause more issues.
