Pittsburgh/Western PA Weather

I was at the Pitt game Saturday...absolutely brutal tailgating at 2 pm. I am jacked for 60-70 degrees all week, and showers...hoping for 65 and sunny on Saturday for the next game!

i went to the AMA national motocross race in Delmont, Pa on saturday

we were there from 7:30am - 6:00pm sitting in the middle of a field watching the race with no shade at all.

it was hard to enjoy the race when its that hot...but we made it without having a heat stroke -lol.

It looks as though the bulk of the rain will be south and east. I have had hardly any rain here in the North Hills today.

It is a good thing this is not a winter storm or we would have gone from a forecast of 6-12 to 1 or 2 inches.

That's funny, I thinking the same thing yesterday. LOL

The heavy snow would have been so close, it would have been more painful than normal.

The 12z gfs is mighty interesting for us...probably a cold rain, but the 500 mb freezing line is actually to our southeast with about .25 inches of precip falling.

Gotta think we see our first flakes early this year

Both the gfs and nam have been in general agreement the past few runs. The main question will be how heavy the precip will be at times.

IMO, it will take relatively heavy precip, in order to pull down any snowflakes. Above 2000 ft is where this is the most likely to happen.

Boy it has been quiet on here lately.

Soon we will be tracking the snow.

I don't know if anyone noticed that Intellicast has a new "Field Trial" radar up.

It looks like the old one but a little crisper and it also has satellite and radar together.

I like it alot so far.

When I first went in I had to download "silverlight".

It prompted me to it and took a minute or 2 to download.

You may want try and go in from the main site.

http://www.intellica...ar/Current.aspx

i tried it through the main link you provided and it worked for about 30 seconds.

then i was moving the slider for the radar opacity and it went blank again...buggy maybe?

Sixty different one inch snowfalls off the lake or us just getting clipped by monster snowstorms hitting Chicago. :D I know, I'm a downer. Have to have a sense of humor about what we go through almost every winter.

Listen here pal, your way out to lunch with that crap.

20 two inch events, and 20 inch events.... get it right !!!!

But seriously, it's going to be an interesting pattern, many last second corrections between I-70 and US 422 likely.
