.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...

BY 00Z WEDNESDAY FRONT WILL HAVE PUSHED SOUTH OF REGION BRINGING END

TO TSTM ACTIVITY. BRIEF BREAK IN TSTMS WEDNESDAY BEFORE WARM AIR

BUILDS BACK INTO REGION WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY. WEAK WEST

SOUTHWEST FLOW AND VERY HUMID AIR WILL KEEP AT LEAST SLIGHT CHANCE

OF DIURNAL THUNDERSTORMS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. ECM KEEPS FRONT

ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND AT END OF PERIOD WITH GFS DROPPING

WEAK FRONT ACROSS REGION ON FRIDAY SO POPS MAY EVENTUALLY NEED TO

BE RAISED LATE IN THE WEEK.

ALL GUIDANCE CONSISTENT WILL HEAT AND HUMIDITY APPROACHING ADVISORY

LEVELS AFTER WEDNESDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE LOW 90S AND

LOWS AROUND 70 INTO THE WEEKEND WITH DEWPOINTS WITHIN A FEW DEGREES

EITHER WAY OF 70.

This is what summer is supposed to be like. How I remember being a kid growing up. Just throw in some isolated Thundershowers late in the day and it is my kind of forecast.

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1650

NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

1218 PM CDT MON JUL 18 2011

AREAS AFFECTED...NRN OH INTO WRN PA

CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH POSSIBLE

VALID 181718Z - 181915Z

STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS WILL CONTINUE/INCREASE EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.

DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE MAIN THREAT WITH THESE STORMS AS

LACKLUSTER LAPSE RATES KEEP THE HAIL THREAT TO A MINIMUM.

16Z MESOANALYSIS INDICATED VERY WARM/MOIST AIR MASS WITH

TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 80S TO LOW 90S ACROSS NRN OH INTO WRN PA.

THIS HAS LEAD TO SBCAPE VALUES NEAR 2000 J/KG IN AN UNCAPPED

ENVIRONMENT. PER LATEST WATER VAPOR IMAGERY...A VORTICITY MAX WAS

ALSO EJECTING ACROSS LAKE ERIE AND WAS PARTLY RESPONSIBLE IN THE

DEVELOPMENT OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS NWRN PA. GIVEN A FAVORABLE

DOWNSTREAM AIR MASS WITH DEWPOINTS IN THE UPPER 60S TO LOW 70S INTO

CNTRL OH/PA AND EFFECTIVE BULK SHEAR VALUES OF 35-45 KT...STORMS

SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN STRONG TO SEVERE INTENSITY AS THEY TRACK

SEWD INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS. HOWEVER...SOME UNCERTAINTY EXISTS

WITH REGARDS TO STORM COVERAGE/ORGANIZATION GIVEN MODEST UPPER LEVEL

FORCING AND POOR LAPSE RATE ENVIRONMENT.

The storms have passed about 10 miles to my east.

About 20-30 ctg lightning strikes to my east with no rain here. (Power flickering off and on)

Meatwad it looks like they are heading right for you.

Bone dry here for weeks. Need rain badly.

On to the next round.

Storms are firing to our north and west right now. Butler County is getting hammered pretty good at present.

Just getting over a nice thunderstorm here. A good soaking rain. Not really what I'd call severe, but per channle 4's radar site, it looks like just to my north and west got a lot more. (I hope they get PIT's dual pol radar online soon.)

Wondering if we could see a second round from the stuff that's up by the lake right now...

Same here down the road a bit. A good bit of lightning with some power flickering.

Good to get the rain today, the rest of the week looks very isolated.

My area is in a dry zone the past several months.

The first round of storms went just east and this last batch went just west.

I did manage to get .06 of rain but that won't do much of anything. The grass will probably stay brown the rest of the summer. Haven't had to cut the grass since mid-June.

Just give me a nice .25 of soaking rain.

100 possible tomorrow

Looks like that little blotch representing 100° is right over top of you. You can have it! lol Although, I think mid 90s is the best we do tomorrow. The heat index will be the story. I just recharged the a/c in my truck today, so I'm ready for it! Record high for tomorrow (well today) is 99° btw.
