We must have a warm cap over our area because storms are fireing to our East also.

Lately almost every MCS weakens as it moves in and re-developes to our East.

I wouldn't be surprised if this thing goes south and then hooks up with the activity to our east and forms a solid line to our south and east.

I saw that the jet steam is forecasted to be in our area later in the week, that should help break the cap, and give us some precip.

Warm Cap (summer) and Low 700mb RH% (winter) are two terms i don't care for.

There won't be any flooding up here.

I had almost 11 inches of rain in April and May and so far in June just .46.

Ground is very hard and dry and my lawn is starting to brown.

We could use the rain.

It probably depends on the area you're in too. Some areas like yours haven't received much while others have. I had some heavy showers just sit over my area last evening and give me a decent amount of rain. I remember looking at the radar last evening and showers and storms were developing and just sitting over some areas for an extended period of time. Not much movement at all. So, while some areas saw nothing, other areas saw quite a bit from those storms.

You're right.

Some areas to the south have had 3 inches of rain and the ground is saturated.

Just in Northern Allegheny County where I am is where it is dry.

I don't want flooding for anyone, however I have a hillside of freshly planted Ivy that has not had a good soaking rain since I started putting it in 3 weeks ago. I just want to save on the water bill and put the hose away for a while.

A good soaking tonight will do. Maybe .25-.50 will do. And not in 10 minutes.

Just looking at the radar a moment ago, and it looks as if the coverage in general is moving east, the heaviest returns are damn near stationary. Very interesting.

I've been on vacation this past week in Florida... Have we gotten any good rain since last Tuesday in Hopewell? I sure hope it did, because our grass was starting to brown before we left. Either way, it does look like some good rain is moving toward you guys.

It looks as if the storm is strengthening to the south and weakening to the north.

The same areas will get heavy rain again.

I am finally getting some but nothing like south of the city.

Looks like the MCS complex has weakened, and looks to be general light to moderate rain showers, with embedded thunder.

Yep. I'm getting drenched again. And from the looks of the radar, and the slow movement of these showers and storms, I'll probably be getting drenched for a while yet.

According to radar it looks like you and just to your north has received over 1 inch in the last hour.

Flood warning just issued.

It has been raining lightly here for 3 hours and I have a whopping .04 inches of rain.

Dry month in western Pennsylvania, north of PIT, so far... New Castle has had 0.36" of rain, Butler has had 0.52", Meadville has had 0.69", and Erie has had 0.87".

Very dry here too.

.63 with .17 of it coming last night.

Is it me or are the models this summer really bad.

We have been forecasted for the potential for heavy rains for a week now and all I have had was 3 hours of steady light rain last night.

It seems like every time we are put in a slight risk for severe thunderstorms, we don't even get a thunderstorm, like today.

Models gave us a lot of rain today and tonight and we had a few sprinkles and nothing on radar.

Just my thoughts.

Potential Heat Wave to start of July,

Hopefully, it'll verify. It'll be better than the cold, cloudy, rainy pattern we're in now.

It must not be have been too cold and rainy this month in Pittsburgh. The airport is at +2.8F and -0.78" for the month.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I've actually enjoyed the cooler weather. I can do without the rainy part of it, but we have plenty of summer left to deal with the heat. I'll hang on to any cool spell as long as I can. I guess it isn't so much the heat, but the humidity that can get on my nerves after a while.
