However, I don't think that includes the first wave, where many of those areas saw 8 + inches. I know that at least towards bradford they did.

Amazing though...this had been a completely forgettable winter, but with a storm last night like that, even though it was 8 inches, it made the whole winter for me. The snow rates were just insane. There were points when I literally had about an eighth of a mile vis, and I have never seen a synoptic snowfall where it snowed that hard...snow squalls, yes, artic fronts, yes, but never like that in banding, even with Feb5-6 last year.

here in clearfield i had 3.5" with first wave and 1" with second wave - for a total of 4.5" for both storms..

i was in the screw zone on both storms(1st wave wasnt too bad)...not horrible but could have been better.

Last couple runs of the GFS have been devoid of any interesting snow threat through 384. Lots of cutters though. :arrowhead: I was hoping with the more progressive pattern we might see some over running threats but there never seems to be a good High to the north. The storm coming today would have probably been much more interesting had we had a strong high to the north supplying some cold air.

Yea really :-( unfortunately it looks as though we may have seen our last snow of the season...:sun:

Picked up maybe 1/2 inch so far today.

It looks like a band of snow is about to move in.

By the looks of it if it holds together we may see an inch or so out of it in the next several hours.

Looks like a little bit of a warm up for next week.

If there is not a big snow on the horizon now... I will take the 40's and 50's.

That little band is moving thru here right now and not very strong at all.

Just light snow and wind.

Looks to be pretty much done behind it.

Between now and the end of March, if the models aren't showing a closed H5 low, a decent W Atlantic ridge, and a sharp trough, I'm not gonna give it much interest.

Those are the basics that are required for a western pa blizzard. Other than that, i'm ready to start making tee times.

I wanna see how my new hybrid club works in the rough. :)

After the storm we had monday night, I made my peace with this winter. Anything from now on will be a bonus for me.

Yeah, I agree. I think the opportunity is still there for more snowfall, and I will welcome it but if winter ends today I will be ok with it. Gonna take something special to top that Monday storm so might as well go out on a winning note lol.

I'm getting a rather heavy sleet shower moving through right now. Its coated everything up rather quickly. I just looked at the updated forecast discussion and they're talking about the possibility of strong storms on Monday ahead of the next storm system. Last Monday we get around 8 inches of snow, the following Monday we have the chance for strong thunderstorms. We're getting into that time of the year now where anything is possible with the weather.

None of the thunderstorms were anything to write home about, but for February, not bad. :lightning:

I was really hoping for a couple inches of hail though, cause you know, I've got all this salt.....

Look for some serious flooding stories possibly to come out of the North Hills.

We have had thunderstorms training over the same area since 5:00 am this morning.

My rain gauge is not hooked up but I would bet I got close to 2 inches of rain and more are coming currently.

All yards in my neighborhood are filled with water and I live on top of a hill.

Hey Digger. At least you don't have to go out and ploy this.

I was out in the wee hours of Sunday morning, plowing part of a church lot that only gets done for Sundays, and wondering if that was going to be the last time I plowed. Seems it could very well turn out that way. Or not.

And an interesting anecdotal observation, on the effects of insolation on pavement, vs. undisturbed snowpack--I'd plowed the rest of that lot earlier in the week, and just for comparison's sake, made a couple of passes in the 'Sunday only" portion. The places I'd plowed earlier were clear and dry, but the untouched parts still had several inches of snow, and most all the QPF was still there. It was heavy and sticky as wet concrete.

Would you believe I took down the snow detour signature and put up the lightning avatar yesterday and get 3 to 4 hours of lightning and thunder. Hmmmm.

That's kinda spooky...

I got woken up multiple times this morning from thunder. When I had to leave for class it was like a hurrinado outside (that's a hurricane and tornado combined). Pretty ridiculous. Lots of rain today, that's for sure, and it's still falling here. I'm ready for the warmer temps, though. No more snow; I've enjoyed the few 60 degree days so far.
