Believe it or not, I just went out and measured and I have close to 7 inches now! I've been getting straight snow for just a little over 4 hours now. It's probably 6.5 inches of snow and a half inch of sleet from earlier. Coming down heavily right now. Looks like we have one last burst moving through and then things will quickly wind down.

So much for screw zone...I just shoveled driveway about 6.5 inches.

The snow fall rate is just incredible right now. I don't want to go to bed cause I know it will all be over soon. I think I might have hangover symptoms after this one! <img src='http://img.amwx.us/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Should be pretty much done with around midnight. You can stay up another hour or two. Just drink a lot of red bull in the morning! :D

It's funny, I was just shoveling my 6 inches and realized that I was still 16 inches less than what i was shoveling Feb 5th of last year. It puts things in perspective of how big last years storm was.

This was nice because it was a heavy amount for such a short time..a rare event for Pittsburgh it seems.

There hasn't been a plow in our entire neighborhood tonight. I took a walk and the streets have 6+ inches on them as well.

Yeah, I think we were the winners during this one. A rarity for us lately. We ended up in the perfect spot for this one. Close to the low passing to our south, but not too far south to where the changeover happened too late for us to get anything substantial.

I think the last heavy burst of snow is moving through now. Should wind down quickly after this moves through.

yea thinking maybe another 45min-hour of heavy snow...but wow-this was awesome!!....my good ol' buddy Jeff who works at TOV9....told me early this MORNING that we'd prob see 6-8 in our area....right on baby...we were texting at 6PM and I was doubting him then and he said to be patient....well here it is...cheers to winter 2010-11 :snowman:

Yupp. Very true. I think this storm turned a forgettable winter into a memorable one. It wasn't really that bad it was just missing that nice storm, which we got today. This winter was supposed to be doomed for any snow after December, but the blocking locked in a very long cold stretch, with some decent over performing clippers, and les. Not too bad at all imo.

What a day this has been. It started out with everybody forecasting about 1-3 in general this morning. Went to 2-5 with a WWA, then 3-6 with a WWA, then 4-7 with a WSW, then 5-8 with a WSW. And what's even funnier is that the current warning is for 10AM and it looks like the snow is going to end by midnight, so they'll probably end up cancelling the warning over night because it'll have already ended. So, I guess the storm was more intense than they initially thought, but at the same time, didn't last as long as they thought.

Jeff is the man then because he had everyone else beat this morning. Nice forecast by him!

He said this morning it looked impressive and couldnt understand why even the NWS didn't issue anything...they did...at NOON! haha
