DC area like Dry slot in the Midwest?

I was thinking earlier if the storm had been over us, the MId-Atlantic Board would be in civil war as DC battled endless sleet while Baltimore had blinding snow and then everyone would be panicked as they watched the dry slot race up from Richmond. By now, the people in Fredericksburg would be committing suicide.

I have a feeling lots of people who were expecting something huge out that storm are going to be somewhat underwhelmed. Yesterday, the NWS in Indianapolis was talking about a potential "catastrophe" due to freezing rain. It looks like they certainly had a several hours of icing, but the dry slot quickly moved in and temperature was up to 34 when I went to bed. Erie PA had a forecast 2 days ago for 12 to 18 inches of snow. It was later reduced, but they too look like they ended up with only a few inches. Not to say it wasn't a huge storm and some are going to go cash in big, but not sure when all is said and done it will live up to the hype

I drove up here to Auburn, NY expecting 14-16" of snow. Looks like 2-3" of snow/sleet fell, now doing nothing. I bet its gonna snow more back in Davis today/tonight with upslope. At least I got to see my mother in law :axe:

If you're going to go all the way up to Upstate NY, you need to pick a better place than Auburn to snow chase :P

1. To avoid the rain and watching my snow melt. (apparently that didn't happen so much)

2. To see a decent storm. (that didn't happen so much either)

3. Get some points with wife for visiting mother in law. (that's in the bag)

So you are 1 for 3 not bad if your a baseball player. But visiting the mother in law points is like a walk off grand slam.
